I just hope the length of this saga doesn't harm us. Quite clearly there are 2 different plans for City in this transfer window: with Messi and without Messi due to financial implications. The longer this drags on the less time we have to fall back to our original plan.

I think the only way this transfer happens is if Bartomeu signs off on this, there will not be any other way. His stance so far is very clear and I think at best it would start to sway closer to the start of the season. I'm not sure if City can take that gamble. I understand this is Messi but we can't let this drag on for weeks.
