This is what I don't like this deal despite my constant dream of seeing the greatest of all time to play for our team.
The hassle that it involves despite him being at the end of the deal. And the constant dilly dally from the Messi camp as well. The transfer is as complicated as it gets despite being a free transfer in a couple of months with that Moron Tebas wagging his tongue every second week.
And the constant guilt trip Messi gets from everyone.

As a club I want us to be as ruthless to Barcelona as we often are with Napoli or Valencia and I don't give two fucks about Barcelona.
But the deep history between our management and Barcelona is preventing this to happen. The last thing I want for us to bent on all fours to Barcelona because our manager loves them or because Messi wants to keep everyone happy.
That's not our problem. So if Messi comes he comes and if the morons want to burn Barcelona to the ground by keeping an unhappy Messi and his exorbitant wages and ridiculous loyalty bonus good riddance. I rather get Halland and watch Barcelona as the ground underneath them devours and finishes them.

We'll continue to be linked until he puts pen to paper on a new Barcelona contract and atm there's nothing coming from the Messi camp that he's willing to renew, hope he doesn't :)

It won't automatically be a free transfer in a couple of months though, it just means he can sign a pre-contract. If they won't let him go on a free or a possible swap deal for Garcia then we'd have to wait until the Summer and next season.

How is the Messi camp dilly dallying exactly?

If Messi signs a new contract with Barca soon we will look very stupid imo, and the Messi camp played us too. His contract is running out,Bartomeu not in the picture anymore, new president will come in in couple weeks or months maybe, looks like Xavi could be installed as new manager.

I would take it now if offered, you would not?

We are seriously poor, and with the games coming thick and fast, our best players running on empty, I think we have major issues.
I think its a very strange time that has caused some disruption to the club but I'm sure Pep can fix it and get us back on track. Saying that I will be concerned if there isn't a significant change in energy and results in the next month.

During the initial stages of discussion , there were multiple reports as well as mentioned by TH a clause in his contract that made him available this season itself and not the 700 million bullshit Barcelona was reporting. The Barca board took the first step towards offense when they flat refused to let him go and the only option was to go to court and prove that there is such a clause making him available for us before that Goal interview. But Messi and co did not want to make legal actions ( fair play to him for his love for the club but the Barca board clearly wants to make an example out of him).
Next year they won't have legal ways to trap Messi but they can use media to harm his image as they have already done several times as mentioned in some reports. Will that guilt Messi to sign an extension ?
My point being they have clearly declared a war against Messi and anyone who intends to sign him. The mention of City in that interview gives that away. Neither Messi nor City want to burn all the bridges to Barcelona because of so much history between Barca and our board . In such a scenario is it worth our effort or time to appease them ?

What in that tweet above suggests any of what you are concerned about.

At the end of the day, it is just Font posturing for the election. I doubt henhas spoken with Ferran, i doubt if he has thats what he would have said. He is using words that promise voters something, that is all.
