Their finances haven’t been sorted so I don’t see how they have been able to put together a clear plan / vision / package for him that would have closed the door to other options so quickly.

As much as I'd love to see Messi play for us, I think there's more chance of Kaka finally pulling on the laser blue.

He does seem happier but Messi's happiness doesn't suddenly get rid of Barca's debt. That happiness could also be the fact he's made his mind up about what he's going to do too - could be to stay or to go.

I agree with other posters, though, if he'd decided to stay then we'd know about it by now. I struggle to see Laporta keeping that under wraps so soon after being elected and also in the midst of other bad news (CL exit and backers pulling out etc.)

Just my opinion, I think the quieter he is the better it is for Barca.

It means he's happy as the only time there's noise from his camp is when he's pissed.

He wanted the change in president and he got it, and his form is next level - usually a sign of contentment.

My take, he stays. Would love to be proven wrong though.

When there are tweets, claims, speculation and whispers in the public domain, we interpret them and agree/disagree on what they mean.

When there is complete silence, we interpret it and agree/disagree on what it means.

Transfers, eh.

It's quiet. Or is it, Ever?

Does seem like with Laporta in charge there'll be less chance now, but you can be sure there'll be lots of links to put the pressure on Barca to give him the best deal.

As it stands, he is 100% leaving. Things have to change, for him to stay.

That may well happen, and I would not be surprised if it does. But currently that is not the default.

Hes staying and will retire there, no sense in going to man city and upheaving his life for a few years before retirement. He got the president he wants now its just downhill from there.

It's more complicated than this.

Messi wants but also SEEKS to play with Pep that's for granted. Barcelona STILL has huge financial problems that Bertomeu has not yet touched! The fact that he had not started to get into any discussions for a contract renewal is a very bad omen for Barcelona.
On the opposite direction, Barcelona's team is starting to work and players to find a certain bond and rhythm(without Fati and Coutinho also) and this might change Messi's mind about staying PROVIDED they will GUARANTEE a top transfer like Neymar etc. Can they do that? I very much doubt with current financial huge problems.
Yet, if Barcelona wins La Liga and the cup this might soften Messi's bitterness about team being awful and not be a competitive team in the last 2 years. Would this be enough? Who knows, but first Barcelona have to win these 2 trophies. Messi's 2 older sons also, do not want to leave and this is always something to think about as a factor.

Overall i think it's 60 % to leave and 40 % to stay.
