I'm sure the club would have had a conversation, there's absolutely zero chance they wouldn't after all the previous efforts.

Sometimes it's down to personal reasons, family and of course the temptation of playing with Neymar, Mbappe etc in the CL league and in a domestic league which is more suitable to his age.
 
Sky news reporting it as a done deal now:

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner had two other options after leaving Barcelona last week, but has chosen to move to the French club on a deal worth £25m per year after tax, plus bonuses.

So pre tax that’s 50 million per year PLUS bonus’s - I can see why we stayed clear of that shit - don’t care who you are or how good you are.
 
His father confirmed he is going to paris. Reports are Chelsea and Spurs were interested. Haha

I don't think it's the only offer on the table, more like the only offer comparable to the insane wages he was on at Barca.

They say Messi pays for himself. Evidently not judging by the state of the club he's just left...
