Yeah I have been to John o groats but only via the east side, that's deffo on my to go list
The drive thru the north west of Sotland up to the north coast is incredible. The other side is also beautiful, but the north west......probably the most stunning landscapes on the planet.
 
Ely is a lovely town with a lot of history, Snettisham Norfolk another nice place
Think I have heard of Ely but not so much the other, I've been to the usual places like Yarmouth Cromer Sandringham etc, will give it a look cheers mate
 
The little villages of the Yorkshire Dales. Thwaite, Muker, Askrigg, there are so many. Picture postcard perfect. And no tellys in the pubs!
 
Inverness, Loch Ness area are all good. Or just go a bit further North and get the ferry to Orkney. Stunning place.
I did Inverness and Culloden, Orkney sounds amazing although the ferry prices are putting me off
