What City fan thinks they have the right to win the PL or CL? We might say we should expect to be challenging for it given the money we've spent, but that's not the same thing. I see entitled as believing you have a divine right to play in the Champions League every year because you were successful in the past. Like when you hear rag fans, or even some pundits, say that Man Utd are too big to play in the Europa League and only the Champions League is good enough for them (despite them not being good enough for the CL). Or the likes of Milan actually try and get the rules changed to take past glories into account in the CL seeding, because obvious such an illustrious team has an automatic right to be in the competition and not be inconvenienced by small details like no longer being good enough to win it fairly.
Believe it or not no Liverpool fans believes the club has a divine right to win the prem or the CL. The only thing LFC desire is a team that is good enough to win fair and square.

If the media are spouting shite about other clubs then that is on the media not the fans.

What annoys me is phrases like 'we should be beating so and so' - based on what?
If you qualify it with 'given the amount we've spent, we ought to be beating Sunderland' - then fair enough, there's logical rationale to it, but without qualifying it, it comes across as a 'we should be beating them because that's the natural order of things' - and that's arrogance.
To be fair many City fans come out with this crap too - I've heard it many times, and I've probably done it myself if I'm honest - made the 'assumption' that City should beat Oldham - just because.

Wolves were once a great team, now they aren't. Things change. Liverpool were once a poor then, then a great team, then just a good team.

30 years from now, we might be bankrupt, Liverpool might be a conference side, and Kettering are European Champions. There's no divine right to a damn thing.

That's the beauty of football and as true football fans we will still support our team.

Have to disagree with that what with FFP(which was about protecting their entitlement to a top4 spot along with the other Sky4), also saying their owner is FSG is like saying our owner is CFG... try John W. Henry who is a billionaire and can already be considered their sugar daddy, they've also spent plenty... ask Southampton.

What they have over us is a dwindling overseas fanbase(due to a lack of recent success) and lack of champions league football.

Not really. Henry is just the frontman for the FSG investment group - it's not his own wealth he's investing and it's not got near unlimited funds - worse still, it's expecting a positive ROI. Yes, they've spent heavily, but not as heavily as City or United, or Chelsea over a longer period. I also doubt they can continue to keep investing heavily like City, United or Chelsea. That puts them in a precarious position, because the landscape of PL and CL football is changing and Liverpool are in danger of being edged out (many would argue they already have been). To get back in, they'll probably have to do what we've done and spend on a grand scale - which FSG can't do.
With a super wealthy owner / sugar daddy, they could do so, and would (probably) surpass us, but fortunately, there's not that many sugar daddies around willing to spend that sort of money on an increasingly competitive sport. They are hoping the Klopp can do it on sheer talent alone, with a limited budget - a la Wenger. It's a pretty long shot if you ask me.

Surpass us how? I don't get what you're saying sorry. They are hardly paupers they've spent plenty compared to most in recent years, they are above Spurs in terms of revenue too:

You just said it yourself look how much United have spent are we that worried about them?

True you spent more than us even yet we are above you in the league.
Well yes but the point is not to make too much of what is spent... again look at United and Spurs. I'm saying if you did have this sugar daddy it wouldn't necessarily transform you in the way he was suggesting it would... plus with FFP in place now it will limit how much could be spent as long as the revenues are how they are there's only united who have a significant lead over anyone at the moment god knows how.

Having a bad spell is common, but these cnuts have had it in a period that has obliterated their entire season.

It really couldn't happen to a nicer football club...........sorry, cult.
