Liverpool (A) PL - Post Game

Everyone looks unfit.
Not surprising, no pre season, 3 games a week, injuries, crap transfer window and players ran into the ground for the last 4 seasons.

Txiki has messed up but also Pep wanting a small squad has come back to hit him hard.

Why did we rake in all that cash last summer, yer sat on it? strange when last season we were looking tired, leggy and getting old.

With Stones out (which I didn’t expect) I’d say:

Akanji Dias Ake Gvardiol
Nunes Bernardo
Savinho KDB Foden
Haaland

Gvardiol doing his usual LW role, Foden coming inside. Nunes and Bernardo holding midfielders. Would ideally bench Bernardo but there are no other options with Kovacic out currently

Kev is very clearly not fit enough to play more than 15 mins and Nunes? ffs mate.

I disagree with most of your knee jerk comments today, but on this I'm with you.

The last thing I expected to see at the restart after conceding the penalty, was the main man having a giggle with Van Dick.

Very surprising.
Absolute garbage . This guy has an exceptional goalscoring record and like it or not Van Dyke is a world class defender unlike some our ours today. It's mutual respect. I could list loads of negatives about that shit show today but digging out the best striker in world football won't be one!

To be fair his form is reminiscent of why he didn't get into the Dortmund side. Still he has been a bargain for us and one of our best players for the last couple of years. He will get back to form but we must be careful when thinking of contract extensions.
Good shout that, could be reminiscent of Delph.

We had his best couple of years and some players just don’t sustain the high level.
Hope he regains his form but there is no guarantee.

We've dropped a few clangers the last couple of years with retentions and releases, it's currently biting us on the arse.

Do you really think the Board are as knee jerk and entitled like half the posters on here or do you think they know the team is in need of a rebuild and need replacements?

So do you really think that another manager will suddenly get this team playing well again?

Ok then.
Ignore him, he wanted Kev gone for Ward Prowse a while back!

I'm by no means a happy-clapper, but let's have some perspective.

After 5 solid years of playing way more games than most teams, against opposition who raise their game, and referee's who 'forget' their cards when opposition players foul, plus fighting on multiple legal front's off the field we are finally having a blip.

No team gets their recruitment policy spot on every time, and nobody can predict injuries. Having to play to such a high standard as to negate shit/bent refereeing and teams raising their game, and playing more than 2 games a week over such long period is simply not sustainable.

Shit happens.

The title is over , just face the fact.

The issue now is trying to get and keep in that top 4, and that will be a hell of a fight.

No CL would be a disaster with a rebuild on the cards, elite players want CL.
Fully agree. Top 4 has to be the target and we need to accept that this season the dipp

I’m hoping ‘serious action from the board’ means dropping £200m in january ;)

Not sure there is a solution to be fair.

What's the alternative if he had made his mind to leave?

Alonso? Jury very much out.

We have had an incredible decade, football goes in cycles, it's going to take some serious money, good judgement, hard work and luck to maintain ours.

Not Alonso. Not for me.

I said a few years back that Maresca would be the right man to continue Pep's work at City. I still think so but he won't leave Chelsea.

Waited until we went down 2-0 to take off rico Lewis . Mind boggling
Rico and Akanji and Bernardo, Gündo, specialists in losing the ball and start opposition counters?
Also Rico getting in the way when creating chances, obstructing shots, and never shoot when the opportunity is there. Should've been subbed at half time.

Apart from that, we've shown some fight, I think we'll be back.

If it's over, no problem. I just want to hang on to a tiny bit of optimism through the dark winter months.

I was expecting to get absolutely battered so I’d have took 2-0 before te game

I thought there were signs of improvement and arguably we shaded the second half

Start with the team that finished today and I fancy us to beat forest

My biggest gripe today is why did it take pep 75 minutes to make the changes?

Let’s face it Liverpool should have won that game 4/5 nil. The players tried hard after a woeful first 25 mins but that was about it.

So many players are shite at the moment, none more so than Foden and Bernado.
I do agree mate but let’s not do it from the stands , it’s a cliche mate but we have just done 4 in a row on the back of a treble , something was going to give , and it’s happening in front of our eyes , it’s sad to see , I’m as pissed off as you mate , top four is the aim now , dig deep like we have always done , are we going to really become entitled like the cunts over the road ?
