Liverpool (A) PL - Post Game

If it's over, no problem. I just want to hang on to a tiny bit of optimism through the dark winter months.
100% we want to hold on, what a ride it's been, the stuff dreams are made of.

No reason for it to end yet, just the end of a cycle.

Most teams are doing to us as we have done to them over the past few years. We now don’t press like we used to, we don’t have much pace in the team, we don’t make as many goal scoring opportunities, and we seem to play out very slowly oh and hardly score from set pieces or corners. Lots of things for Pep to sort out and I’m 100% sure he will do and us as fans need to keep supporting this team.

I’d kill for a Mahrez top corner free kick.

Ah well, not to worry. Disappointing. Interesting to watch with a Saints fan who said we've become them, matching teams for possession with zero threat up top and a catalogue of mistakes in the back line. I couldn't disagree, that's exactly what we were today.

It'd be really interesting to hear Pep's thoughts about the prevalence of basic and destructive individual errors on the pitch, multiple times per game now instead of a few times a season.

Onwards Blues, I suggest enjoying a season without pressure now, just lean into it and have fun.

Not surprising, no pre season, 3 games a week, injuries, crap transfer window and players ran into the ground for the last 4 seasons.

Txiki has messed up but also Pep wanting a small squad has come back to hit him hard.

Why did we rake in all that cash last summer, yer sat on it? strange when last season we were looking tired, leggy and getting old.
Letting Alvarez go without signing a back up was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in the transfer window for a long time, now Haaland has to play every fucking game even when he's not in form and you just know he's going to get injured at some point.

Not Alonso. Not for me.

I said a few years back that Maresca would be the right man to continue Pep's work at City. I still think so but he won't leave Chelsea.
Not a chance he would walk away from there, he's had a fine start, already won over the doubters and the players seem to love him.

Anyway that irrelevant. Pep is here and has to rebuild this team from top to bottom.

Well that's me, I'm done. Not with the club, not ever, but with the morons on this forum who, despite not being world class managers themselves, seem to know better than the world class manager we have got. The complete and utter shite that you lot come out with is not only pathetic, it's embarrassing.

You're not City fans, not really, You never were. You wouldn't be mentally capable of following this club down to the 3rd division and managing to keep your dignity and your sense of humour. You can't even cope with a bad patch, or even a single loss at times. And you're all too dumb to understand that you have already witnessed the greatest period in our history. Because you won't see a better manager or a better team who has jelled as well as this group has, and to be slagging them off and writing them off the way you are doing, week in week out, tells us everything we need to know about you.

I'm not going to name names, you know who you are. And you know what? I'm glad you're suffering. Because you don't deserve to support this club.

You know what's really funny? You all slate the likes of Neville, yet you get carried along by the hype. If you watch these matches without the commentary, without the media leading you, you see a match where Liverpool dominated the first 10-15 minutes and from that point on was pretty even, against a team on top form and who are full of confidence having just beaten Real Madrid, it's the sort of result we could have seen in any other season.

It's been the same for most of the other matches in this run. The stats show we've had more shots, more possession and so on, and it all comes down to one thing: The core of the side has been ripped out and it's not going to change much from one match to another until we get player back and until we are able to rest some of the players who are struggling. Bernardo is the obvious one but there are others. Why are any of you even surprised? If half your car engine was ripped out would you expect the same performance from it?

Everyone is raving about Liverpool, they're on a roll, but they look like they're already celebrating the title and we've seen what happens when teams do that. We showed today that we're not that far off, we need to get a couple of players back and we need to get a bit of confidence back. And I can cope with that. Because of what this club has given me in the past decade and beyond, I can live with it, but mostly because I understand why it's happening while you're all too dumb to see it. But the worst thing is you're ruining that enjoyment, your completely spoiling the achievements we have made, the trophies won, the records broken, and so on.

It's hard to believe but despite all this we're only 2 points from Arsenal, who at the start of the season were tipped by many to win the title or at least run us close. Because you all know nothing. Liverpool lose 3 matches, we go on a run and beat them at the Etihad and we're back in it. And it could happen, however unlikely it may seem right now. But you're all falling apart and I can't stand listening to the drivel and vitriol on here from morons who have the audacity to call themselves fans. So I'm done. I'm out, and this is my final post. I'd rather support my club through good AND bad, like I always have done, and enjoy the good moments without thinking I'm entitled to them every week like you lot do.

The sad thing is you'll never find the perfection you're looking for, but that's your problem. Enjoy your misery, you deserve it.
Swindon away and Frank Clark brings on defender Morley and puts him up font..Freezing cold and ends 0-0..Seen it all but that draw was fucking abysmal..Drove home thinking fuck me...Can it get any worse? It did.
