Liverpool (A) PL - Post Game

It's been so bad I can't see where the next win is coming from at present. I mean if we can't hold onto a 3-0 lead at home, with fifteen minutes to go against a bang average Feyenoord side when can we??
Let's not kid ourselves about the first few games of the season either. Aside from Chelsea away and the first thirty minutes at home against Arsenal we have been poor but scraped over the line. That was against the likes of Wolves and Southampton too.

We just need to scab a few wins and hopefully the confidence, form and flow will come back. The thing is when is it going to start???
Being thinking this all along too - just where is the next win coming from?? I was out at a gig yesterday so only heard first 10 minutes commentary and it sounded like a horror story, also knew we would concede the obligatory penalty. That the score was 2-0 and kept it ' respectable' doesn't cover up there are massive problems. Might watch it back today, apparently a bit better second half. And wtf is all that about Hasland joking post match with Van Hype. Ffs he should be concentrating on out muscling him - for such a big fella he doesn't half get pushed around by centre backs. If any of them want to play for us they need to get stuck in and play for their own self respect as well.

I love Pep, but he seriously needs to rethink about maybe going defensive a bit and in future havibg a bigger squad. Nobody could have foreseen the injuries but bad recruitment with this has really created the problem. We were shot in the cup final and it's basically continued apart from Chavs away and the 10 minutes v Arse until they clattered Rodri.

I am behind the team and those players who are trying, the others can take a running jump and pack their expensive luggage and do one.

It's a bit of a mixed bag at present. Liverpool away is practically a loss every single season as our record there shows so we can't use that as a yardstick. Our problems have been discussed countless times. An ageing, slow burnt out team that is further hindered by an injury crisis and the loss of the worlds best midfield player. We are still dominating most games but are too easy to run through and score against and we're missing decent chances when we're on top in games. As I said if we scab a few wins the form and flow should return. Scabbing those wins is just proving a lot harder than I imagined!

I agree on Haaland he has to work on areas of his game he's weak at. His physicality, heading and hold up play if he wants to be the world's best. I wouldn't put much emphasis on his laughing with opposition players that's just his laid back nature. Watch his interviews he just doesn't take himself seriously whether he's just scored a hat trick or missed a sitter, his demeanour is the same.

You need to wake up and realise things are clearly not right, if you can see we have serious issues I am utterly amazed.

I can see why folk have been putting you on ignore. Back up your insinuations with something other than dramatic musings.

My reply to you yesterday was meant to be light-hearted. I thought that was obvious.

Not too discouraged by yesterday as tbh I was fearful we would get absolutely wiped, and if we are honest had Liverpool brought their shooting boots we probably would have been.

You cannot go into Anfield and roll out the likes of Nunes and Rico in midfield and expect to play the same system we have been doing for years, and get any success. The fact that Nunes gets a game for us starkly shows how the standards of quality in our squad and the midfield area have slipped drastically over the past 2 years - he doesnt get anywhere near a subs bib in the period 2017-2023. Rico is a reserve full back and willing worker but isnt a Premier League midfielder in any way/shape/form - do either of these 2 get into Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea's midfields? Nope - so having them in ours explains why weve lost 6 of the last 7. Pep needs to adapt the style of play to the players we actually have available - defend deeper, go long a bit more often and actually put the ball near the big lump up top and give him a chance. At the moment hes a passenger starved of service.

We obviously also need to stop giving away at least 1 goal a game with comedy defending, but we are where we are and the lads we have need us on Wednesday night. Grealish, Doku and KDB need to all start that game - Grealish centrally if required. Ruben back helps but once again we'll need to score at least 3 to get anything from it.

Put me on ignore, what the @@@k was lighthearted yesterday, we were pathetic.

Our team is old and broken, do you enjoy that?

This fall is not all down to injuries, it down to some monumental cock ups by some senior people at the club.

If you don't want or can't see that I would question you.

Far too many on here worry about certain players, they simply can't accept those players are finished in our shirt.

What is wrong with saying that?

I am old enough to remember seeing the great 69 side grow old and fade together and look how long that took to sort out.

We are an elite club now, we need to act like one on and off the pitch, fans included.

Anfield provided the perfect example of what happens when you increase the capacity, but don't do anything about the transport infrastructure. It will be just as bad at the ETIHAD next season, but at least we've got the option of walking to Piccadilly.

We weren't kept behind afterwards (which was probably a mistake) and there was a horrible dark bottleneck with scousers goading for a reaction and sadly a few blues accepting the challenge. Plenty of shouting and screaming, and the odd cheap rabbit punch.
A Liverpool fan was completely sparked out in front of the City coaches and receiving medical attention from some sympathetic Cheadle blues, one of whom just happened to be a nurse.

Naturally there weren't any Police on the scene. They were probably too busy trying to catch anyone singing FEED THE SCOUSERS (which didn't happen).
A horrible end to a horrible day and probably my last visit to Anfield.

Step away from the table and put down the glass for the sake of your own health!

But somebody else has to win the title,

The list of my worst nightmare club winning the title runs deep, but I think Arsenal are 3rd or 4th of pain

Just like to pop in to say that Wolves and Southampton have been scrapping. And I respect that. It does seem to be case that there's been a certain levelling up at the bottom. The absolute rabbits that everybody was going to demolish 5-0 seem to be a thing of the past, at least temporarily. And wasn't it either Southampton or Wolves who pushed Liverpool pretty hard recently?

There was something different about Pep after game, like for the first time he felt he got something out of the players? It was pretty clear the first half we were shite, we played like how the rags play vs us most of the time...a deer in headlights and just trying to scrap a draw or win. Second half they gave it a go, didn't materialise to much in front of goal but we have to accept we are moving up from a low level right now. Some key differences i noted:

- body language in defensive transitions was better.
- players putting their bodies on the line to stop shots.
- actually having a decent line and catching players offside.
The above points i put down to Dias, even though just 1 guy being back shouldn't change much i felt the extra pressure from him did help. Ake in a 1v1 duel was magnificent as well.

Something that is still a big negative for me is the amount of 1v1's we give up though, we are constantly in danger with players being isolated. This is further compounded with Walker still trying dick-measuring contests with every player when its clear his has shriveled. He's getting done for pace, done for power, just stand up and do some normal defending?

I know Pep mentioned Grealish coming in the middle but i'm not convinced he meant he will try that going forwards, more so he was just trying to give a reason for why he did it in this particular game.

There are ways of expressing criticisms in a constructive manner, rather than everything being acerbic and vitriolic, however.

The phrases used in describing our players at times is purely offensive, disgusting and unnecessary imo.

Certain posters attack our players with so much hostility, that is totally staggering, when taking into account how much they have contributed, and have been a crucial part of our success.
