Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

yep ridiculous comment. scored home and away to bayern, home and away to united, scored against madrid, home and away to arsenal in title deciders, has scored against liverpool this season, 2 away at the bridge this season, all time top scorer per minute in europe’s top competition.

easier to pick out big games he doesnt score in.
Yes mate
But what about the times he's gone missing " BY HIS STANDARDS ".
I'm not alone in that thought.
So don't say ridiculous.
And a lot of them was last season "mate'

Is it impossible? No. But that probably did us in there. We need to be perfect with a tough schedule and hope they slip up somewhere.
"Probably did us in?" With 30 points to play for? Seriously? They threw everything they had at us and only came away with a point on their own hallowed turf. If anything they'll feel like they blew it today, not us.

They threw everything at Forest last week, who are bottom three? - and only won through a 99th minute goal, their 8th 90+ minute goal this season. Arsenal look like the bigger threat but they're actually 6 points worse off than they were at this point last season.

Sorry but I think mancboy was spot on. If this is "support" we don't need it. Fact remains they threw everything at us today and only got a point via a penalty and we could have won it after hitting the woodwork a couple of times late on. Out of curiosity I've read some of the forums of the bottom clubs recently and they don't get as bad as this, which is one of the reasons I haven't been on here most of this season. There are a lot who are beginning to sound entitled. I don't know how they would have coped in the late '90s.
We had critics in the 70,s, 80,s and 90's just no social media to display it on. We just walked home from the match saying to each other how shite we were today or how brilliant we were. Shows how far we've come when a draw away at Liverpool is a disappointment to some.

Feels really weird watching a Pep side with little midfield control, goes against everything he used to be about

We need to stop this experiment of playing Rodri as a box to box midfielder, because he isn't.

Play him sitting 5 yards in front of the defence just sweeping everything up, with the play happening in front of him.
I can't believe Kev got the hook today Alverez could have been hooked 20 minutes into the match with his failure to control the ball and make a pass. He was very wasteful today and for whatever reason as with some others he was definately off it today for sure.

Anyway I'm always a glass half full guy so a point could be a great point at the end. CTID

First half we had opportunities to have the game won. Worst start possible to second half and they seemed to just over run us from that point on.

A few were under par today, which if they had been on form we would have beaten them. Was a big call taking Kev off but he looked out of sorts, unlike him.

Let’s be honest second half was crap.

First 10/15 in the first half we should have scored a couple, didn't which is a theme this season.

Second half the dips ran and outplayed us. Haaland is also not scoring everygame which is noticeable because no other player bar Phil is carrying a goal threat hence why we have not been hammering teams.

I said it weeks back, Haaland needs to score nearly every game for us to win the league. He is not currently.

City can still win the league with 10 to go.

Beat Arsenal next and people will start to believe it’s ours to lose again.

Can we just take a min tho and appreciate what every single one of those players has achieved for city especially last season. It’s hard to criticise them as they are a great bunch of lads who try their best.

Staying at the top is fucking hard.

When I seen the teamsheet with Alvarez starting in place of Kovacic my heart sank a little. I love Alvarez but his overall performances in the last 2 months haven't been great and I thought Kovacic would give us more control. But that aside, if you'd offered me a home win and away draw before last week's Derby I'd of snatched your hand off. We're still in the hunt and we're not going anywhere soon. It's a long season and there is still a long, long way to go. CTIFD!

It is not any more, at this point.
Unfortunately, true.

Arsenal’s challenge is still in our hands, but Liverpool’s is now firmly in theirs.

If we win all of ours, and they win all of theirs, Liverpool are champions, with us finishing one point behind in second.

They need to at least draw a match (and we need to go on another winning streak) to put it back in our hands.

What are you on about?
Liverpool had several players out and we didn't take advantage.
Bottled it AGAIN
no bottled it would have been losing that game and going 4 points behind with them having a better goal average which in efect is 5 points, we didnt and took 2 points off them and kept the title race alive with 1 point in it

Alvarez was poor today but he’s not a winger.
we won 10 drew 1 with him up front when Haaland was out, playing best football of the season so far.
Beat scousers 4-1 last year with him up front not EH.

Very poor performance today. Getting overun in midfield far too often & couldnt keep the ball long enough.
Not one to judge Pep but I thought Haaland was very poor today & should have been substituted instead of DeBruyne.
Both could have been substituted as both were poor on the day.

Fuck the line up. We did what we had to do. Not lose.

We had chances to win. Fodens in the second half was key.

We did well I thought under the circumstances.

Small time cunts celebrating a point against ikkle city.
