Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

This post match thread is a little embarrassing
I've just got up to see the highlights coz it was too late over here.
We should have won, hit the bar and post and had 3/4 good chances , their keeper got lucky and we gifted them a pen. The only lucky bit was the Diaz miss.
Reading the post match for a few mins during the night it sounded like we didn't turn up.
Ridiculous
10 games left , 3 horse race , 30 points for grabs and we haven't hit full stride yet.
Pressure and tiredness will play a part.

Pathetic again at Anfield.

Played atrociously.

And our luck there summed up with Doku hitting the post.

Disgraceful from Kev, Haaland, Ederson and Ake.

Gutted. Title out of our hands and I can’t see us winning it now.

Can’t see scousers dropping any points.
I know you are a fucking fanny wipe and piss poor wum, but that's pathetic even by your low standards.

The other thing for me on the Doku incident is that the ball bounces and everyone in that stadium can see him shaping to hit it on the bounce. MacAllister decides to throw himself into that space standing straight up. It’s smart from him as it invites the challenge but it’s sort of reckless on his part isn’t it? Not saying he should be carded or that we weren’t right in the edge there but I think in the abstract if it were against us I wouldn’t want us getting that either as it’s just a bouncing ball and I don’t like the concept of inviting players to have incentive to get fouled for a penalty kick. It just seemed like the whole thing happened in slow motion and that Mac Allister knew what he was doing

He was at it all the game, his cheating game has increased significantly under Herr Tranzplant

On balance a draw is a good result, but it really was a missed opportunity. When I saw the team sheet with Alvarez in the starting line up I knew it wouldn’t work, out of position and making mistake after mistake, he gave the ball way that and ended up with Rodders being booked. Kovacic was the obvious starter but wasn’t. I also thought KDB should have stayed on, Haaland hardly had a kick second half and Kev was starting to find space. At this moment I don’t care if we win the title cos I really wanted us to put Bingo and the dips media in their place, we had the chance and blew it.
Atleast, we didn't allow Klopp doing his fist pumps at our expense. Imagine if they had won it after battering us, the celebrations from all quarters would've been unbearable.

So you fancy Liverpool to win their next 10 Premier League fixtures which would make it a run of 15 unbeaten with 14 victories?

If they do that then they'll fully deserve the title.

They won't though and it's far from over.
Ragworld need to repay us for hosting them after Klopps grandad flattened the theatre of memes

Assuming you didn't take note of their starting 11? They had 5/6 of their strongest 11 missing against us pretty much full strength with most key players rested mid week whilst they played thursday night and still outran us second half. Its not a good result at all. They were there to be beaten and none of our big players stepped up, its beyond a joke how little mentality we showed for a team who are current treble winners and world champions.
Oh dear...

"we should have won"

Rubbish, first 10 minutes apart when we were superb they destroyed us.

We had no midfield, a defence that looked vulnerable every time they were attacked and a non existent forward line, Foden apart.

Haaland , KDB and Alvarez were passengers, a traffic cone would have done more work than Haaland.

This has been a magnificent team and I would never question them but for me were are not good enough this season, look tired and leggy and so predictable.

Some people in here just need to get out from social media right now, breath the fresh air and touch some grass to calm the fuck out themselves down.

The overreaction is like the world is freaking ended somehow ignoring the fact that there's still 10 games remaining still have twist and turns with our rivals have chance to drop points.

On clear cut chances mate we had more. The width of half a post from victory. Twice.
Liverpool and in particular Klopp's, are a maniacal, duracel bunny pressing team , at home pumped up to the max (yes including dubious substances ).We are a control, pass and move possession team. We will see if they can keep it up for a potential 20 more games, with half their squad creaking at the seams.
Yes we've not reached the dizzy heights thus far but who's to say Pep hasn't got his timing right again and we're about to get our second wind when required.
The fact we're still talking about back to back (I won't say it) is nothing short of a miracle. We showed we can stick in there, fight till the end and never give in.
It may well be a bridge too far but really you should know NEVER to write this squad of players off .

We won a lucky point. Which is great in all scheme of things. But our top 6 record is not great this season which obviously points to something systematic. We don’t swat away teams anymore that arsenal is doing right now.

Right now if we go and win the league, I will still call it a little bit lucky.
And that’s not a bad thing - half of Real Madrid CL wins can be branded as lucky- they show up only for semifinals and finals and win the whole thing.
The next 5 games are our semifinals. The next 5 our finals!

Totally agree about never writing this team off, simply incredible that in March we are in the position to do the treble again.

We were poor yesterday, they showed the weakness that our team has had all season, we simply always look vulnerable to the counter and yesterday we were overrun in midfield.

Yesterday two major positives, we did not lose and that point could be vital and Liverpool dropped two points, privately I could imagine Klopp is pissed and feels a huge missed opportunity.

Yes we had chances but so did they, Diaz should have done far better twice and that could easily have been a penalty at the end, if that was at the other end we would have been slaughtering the ref/var for not giving it.

More than happy with the result, but its getting to a point now where we need to seriously examine why we are so consistently poor at anfield. It doesn't matter who is missing or what 11 they put out, we still “shit the bed” as many bluemooners have said.

At any other ground (with bigger and better atmospheres) we never look like we are so mentally fragile, its only at that shit hole. I refuse to believe its down to liverpool playing well - it might be a small aspect but when we play them at a neutral ground or at home we play with much more confidence and freedom. This pattern is nowhere near as apparent against any other team.

Whether its simply a matter of paying too much respect idk but its the definition of insanity and i would love for us to spend time (perhaps in the off-season) to implement strategies from a psychological stand-point to break this cycle. Rant over.

I think Pep is at fault for bigging up the dippers and the so called atmosphere at Anfield. We look beaten before we go out there and watching them get off the team bus it looked like they thought they were going into the Valley of death. They were there to be beaten yesterday and we shit the bed , sloppy passing in the first half and panic stations second. Bernie in particular lost his focus yesterday and was lucky to stay on the pitch and we had no control of the game whatsoever. Saying that it was a game we couldn’t afford to lose and a point is not a bad result at all
