Fuck me. That commentary was absolutely disgraceful today.

The day I hear of Martin Tyler being moved into a retirement home and him constantly pissing himself, I shall be out for a celebration drink.

Utter ****

It's not a question of me feeling better, it's about the referee applying the rules of the game. Just because it's happened before doesn't make it correct this time more a reflection on the standard of refereeing we've come to expect and accept.

You are kidding yourself if you think it is a foul. Physical contact happens all over the pitch continuously. Our centre half was weak and misjudged the pass.

FIFTEEN POINTS AHEAD, FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON TO A TOP 4 TEAM IN ROUND 16 OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, ON A DAY WHEN WE WERE SECOND BEST AND THEY PLAYED THEIR BEST GAME OF THE SEASON...AND IT WAS 4-3 DUE TO DEFENSIVE ERRORS.

Lord help us if that requires handwringing and consternation. 20-2-1, 15 games to go, 15 pts ahead.

Keep on keeping on. The long stretch of killer games and we’ve lost ONE, are in the EFL SF leading after First Leg, in 4th round of the FA Cup with a lower division opponent, in CL Round of 16 against one of the “preferred” teams. The way we play is a winning formula, and we stumbled for about 10 minutes at Anfield.

I will survive. I hope some of you will...but I’m worried about some of you!
Unless Pep does somthing we will lose again soon. Sterling needs a couple of games on the bench with Bernardo starting for one. Bernardo rose to the challenge so needs to be rewarded. Sterling didnt so needs to think about life for a while.

All game I felt they were more hungry. More relaxed as well given the day offs they had but much more hungry too. With the pressing and going for second balls 100%. More aggressive, more hungry. Kind of happens every time at Anfield so its not just one game.

We get scared of it, start losing possession easily, so many bad passes, not taking defenders on, no real tempo in our game.

People said here in the pre match topic that we gonna rip them apart and we beat them 3-0 etc, it was very far from that.

It was a good test for CL later stages imo for us, thank God failing it still doesnt matter that much but in CL we wont have maybe another games to put it right and we are out with performance like this.

Does anyone fancy them in next round of CL if we both qualify? I just dont want the team to go back to Anfield again this season. We would know exactly what to expect from them yet still be playing like today.
I think I’d take pretty much anywhere than there again.

Although the Dippers play against us everytime like it is their cup final , we have actually only played them in one cup final and we beat them and recieved a trophy ,where as the Dippers get f*ck all every season for beating us and havent won a trophy for donkeys years.Let them have their day in the sun, i will settle for yet another premier league title
Bang on mate, could'nt agree more.

2nd week in January, and that's our first defeat, oh, and we've won every other game bar two. We're ok.

We do need to sign Sanchez.

We had that spell where we lost all shape. We couldn't pass and our control was off. That is where we lost the game.
I think it's unfair to call out individuals, as the whole team seemed to lose focus. But we kept plugging away and
in another dream, might have got an equaliser. I enjoyed the game and at least we saw 2 teams that want to play football.
100 times better than a lot of boring games the PL has served up this season. So we DIDN'T win, i can cope with that as
i believe we won't lose many more, this season.

In other words he pushed him in the back - clear foul.

Could easily have been given but it wasn’t.

From the replays you see he misjudged the pace/path of the ball and takes a wee half step, Firminho took advantage and got slightly lucky.

I’d have been raging at myself if I was Stones for getting out muscled, also the fact he never went to ground probably helped the ref make the ‘easy’ decision to wave play on.

I don't think you lot were as bad as you are making out I think you have just set yourselves very high standards.

That defending is as bad as anything we have done since the first half of last season. Also we were yards slower than usual in midfield & kept misplacing simple passes we could normally play without looking.

Some absolute shite being spouted about Sterling today. The lad has the strongest mentality in our squad bar none. Just look at the shite he has been through and he has still performed how he has this season. He had an off day but never gave up chasing the ball down.

All this performance does is highlight the need for more experience in the attacking areas. Sane and Sterling are still young and don't yet have that ability to grab the game by the scruff of its neck.

Staggered by the slagging off of Sane until he scored. Plus, Sterling has been one of our best players all season and scored last minute winners to win us games. As some have said try playing with 40,000 small timers booing. They really are the most deluded and awful set of supporters. I have seen rags give us more respect. But to get on the backs of Sane and Sterling is poor. Sane does miss silva when he does not play. He seems to really understand where David is going to play the ball.

I'd feel pretty confident playing them in the CL. I think Pep would relish the opportunity to roll the dice again at Anfield. I honestly think that if we replayed today's game ten times, we'd win about 6 and draw a couple.

Let's accept today was a poor day but congratulations to the team for putting together the amazing run.

This loss changes very little for us, it's a loss we could afford to take but the performance was way below standard and to be fair to the players there are a lot of things going against us at the moment with injuries and the amount of games we're playing and having to come from behind a lot.

The biggest revelation of the day is how poor at understanding football most of blue moon seems to be, and what a bunch of unrealisitc whining shits so many people are.

People in this thread are acting as if we played against dummies, not understanding there's another team trying to win.

As if we have some 'right' to win anything, and anytime a player is not totally perfect, that means we need to get rid, or sack, or rush to bluemoon to slag them off.

Holy fuck is it obvious a lot of you don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about

Liverpool's second goal came from a foul the ref ignored, it happens

We had 9 minutes of chaos, our players on the back food, it happens

We fought back to 4-3 and had two good chances to equalise, it happens

This is not the time to castigate and burn our players (and Pep doesn't give a fuck what you write here, it's going to make no difference at all), because we're 20-2-1 for the season, with 15, or at worst 12 points ahead, with 15 games to go and a better goal difference than 2nd place has points.

Stop fucking panicking
Agree on everything but 9/10 that isn't given as a foul. Stones just made an error to go for the ball early and retreated back to Firmino where he should've been strong enough to resist his push.

It’s a bit clutching at straws that one, we’d be well pissed off if we scored it n it got ruled out for that.
And it would have been ruled out had it been us. It was a push ,yet not one pundit or commentator used the word push.

Neville said we would be pressed and expected Emerson to use the ball longer than normal, it didn't happen and we put ouselves under unnecessary pressure, not least in the Fred Cano ten minutes.

Fern misdirected and under hit so many passes , Sterling was in his usual v Liverpool mode, Gund's injuries may have caught up with him , Sergio's pressing is'nt actually pressing as he always stops four yards from the man.

Despite results we haven't been in top form for over a month now, probably due to the loss of David. I wonder under what circumstances he would have been used today? With a fit David the result would probably been different. Seeing him sat on the bench the whole match seemed to indicate an acceptance of defeat by Pep.
