Really don't think that we've got the personnel to beat them. To beat there high press, you have to play the long ball and bypass the midfield at least for the first half. Lack of a genuine target man will play into there hands. Personally, I think he'll pack the midfield, go with the false nine, try and play them at there own game and leave Sergio on the bench. I know it's not in Peps DNA to play long ball, but that's the way to beat them/get a point.Fearing the worst I'm afraid. 2-0 Dippers.

Their attacking four will stretch us and cause serious problems, which I'm not sure our current back four can handle. Especially in a high pressure game away at Anfield.

The only way to win this will be to out score them.

We need big, big games from Sergio and KDB.
I'm sure they'll be a little worried about our front 4

I suspect their intensity and speed of attack will be too much for us to handle. Make the most of our opportunities and it'll be a close game, but we need to be clinical otherwise we have no chance.

Fucking hate these scouse ****s, cup final against us , dont turn up against the rags

We outplayed them in the cup final with a combative midfield and ferna out wide

I would play Fernando , ferna and toure in a three with sterling , sane and aguero up front

We can't afford to lose this game so we should play on the break and hope to nick a win

Not confident but hopeful
What no Kevin or silva, no chance

Well, a mate and I will be in corporate hospitality in the Centenary Stand for this one, courtesy of my boss. I hope we win, but containing myself amongst a load of Irish Scousers might prove troublesome...?!

Sterling needs to get out there and produced to shut up them up and feed on the pain he inflicts, Nasri for the most was fucking awful V arse and Gaz Baz V Villa. Raheem needs to rise above and let his feet do the talking, a nice 25 yard run with a goal at the kop early doors would be nice.
Nasri was incredible in the 6-3.

I was there that day. 1 of 2 trips to anfield. The other being a 4 nil defeat in the cup which was then followed by a 6 nil defeat in the league the following Saturday.

Here's hoping NYE will be more like the former

Yep fingers crossed! I still can't find any decent highlights of that game - can anyone help?!

You know they're going to make it as unpleasant as possible for us, the booing, the jeers for Bravo if he even makes the slightest of errors, Sterling will be on the end of the biggest pile of bile and hate as soon as the ball goes near him.
This needs to be another Barca level performance, total dominance, taking our chances, every player at 100%

They are hardly going to make it a pleasant experience , the team needs to show some backbone. If a bit of booing is going to put them off then they need to find a new career

I'm sure they'll be a little worried about our front 4

I'm sure they will, but they know how much we struggle under pressure against a high energy team.

They'll look to starve us and physically intimidate. I think they'll bring Emre Can into midfield for Wijnaldum and look to overrun Yaya and Silva.

Without them getting much time on the ball our other front players will become bystanders.

Hopefully a rejuvenated Yaya will be too much for them to outwork and we can keep supplying the forward line.
