I think Liverpool will come at us all guns blazing. If they don't score in the first half their pressing always lessons as the game goes on. Weather the storm, we win.

To distract me until the team sheets arrive I am preparing mushroom & mozzarella arancini, with buttered boiled potatoes and a fresh basil infused alioli. It's snowing, Leonard Cohen is playing I'm feeling calm and collected.
You could distract yourself by eating some proper fucking grub instead.

I think the truth, as always, lies somewhere in between?

We have looked assured and done our jobs against all the teams we would expect to beat.

Winning at Chelsea and then United in the semi has only gone to underline we are in a good moment.

Liverpool, however, still represent our biggest test to date and I would not be shocked if our winning sequence comes to an end today.

Like boxing, styles make fights, and the way we demand to retain possession has always been our Achilles heel against this particular team, simply because they can transition so quickly into the three front players who don't need any invitation to suit.

They aren't likely to open us up with passing sequences and, like United, they tend to run out of ideas if the other team cedes possession and places the onus on them to break down the block.

Pep got his tactics spot on the year Mahrez missed his penalty and would be happy to see the same game plan in action today.

A draw is no good to Liverpool, so perhaps that will play into our hands

After United result last night, I would not be unhappy with a draw, and another game chalked off against a top six opponent.

This league is prone to hyperbole and some of the talk about City in recent weeks has been over the top.

We go and win this today, then we can most certainly say Pep has us legitimately primed to win this title!

We should give these dippers maximum reset, I mean what are the chances of over 79% asthma sufferers all coming together in the same team at the same time, many of them not developing the condition until their 20’s, I think the way they have cope with this is incredible. I wonder if the 2 new centre backs have asthma, yet?

Hope we put these lot to bed today but have that gut feeling it's guna be decided by a VAR decision like no other and a Ref display to match the Mike Dean show yesterday just to keep things interesting and the swan vesta buyers still relevent..hope I'm wrong with a passion

7 points from our next 3 league games would be excellent. I think our nearest challenger also play liverpool very soon?

By the way pal you owe me one. Watched the game last night til the scum went two up, stopped watching by way of depression, saw on my phone that you’d equalised, so started watching again, at which the scum immediately scored, I stayed with it until 92nd minute and gave up and stopped watching. Without me you equalised. Similar situation to when you drew 4 all there under Gollum, we went in to win the league that season due to your draw. I also think Tim Howard made a wonder save from Turdinhand (after I switched back on and nearly jinxed it!)
that was almost a mirror of what i did, switched off at 2-0, got a text telling me 2-1 then another 2-2, resisted temtation to put it back on until 88th min, saw the score and turned it off until i got about 5 text messages in 5 seconds, i knew then it was good news

we are fucking curses

I suppose there are 8 players I very much expect to be picked:

Ederson, Cancelo, Dias, Stones, Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo, Sterling.

Maybe Fernandinho instead of one of the midfielders (with Bernardo possibly moving into the front 3), but I doubt it.

There are 3 possibilities for the other fullback slot being Walker, Laporte, and Zinchenko. I have no idea which he'll pick. Walker might be seen as the safest bet.

Up front I strongly expect Foden, but I didn't include him earlier just because Pep is very unpredictable with some players. I expect Jesus too, but Pep might mix it up with a false 9. I wouldn't be shocked to see Mahrez start, although I doubt it. Who knows, maybe it's Torres.

If I had to guess:

Ederson

Walker
Stones
Dias
Cancelo

Rodri
Gundogan
Bernardo

Sterling
Jesus
Foden

Can't wait for the team sheets to come out.
iv changed my starting 11 so many times in my head but always end up with the same conundrum, Sterling or Mahrez.
I think it boils down to which one of these two do Liverpool have most/if any fear of by them just being on the pitch.
Both can be very good passengers in our team, but which one would liverpool have the most concern over?
