I suspect Erling has been looking forward to this game ever since the preseason friendly.
It's possibly coincidence that they do also lose there on those 'famous European nights' when presumably the overseas referees are insufficiently aware of their 'istree and entitlement.I always put City down to win, but teams simply don't win at Anfield ... no one's won there in the PL for 4 and a half years, other than that bizarre 6-game spell during covid / lockdown when there was no crowd screaming for fouls & penalties, and Liverpool lost them all.

This made me guffaw.Because they beat the wheatsheaf last night ?
Nothing magical about it, but when you go there year after year and are continually shafted by referees then that goes some way to explaining it. The list would be extremely long if we went through the shocking refereeing decisions we have been on the end off at anfield over the last 5/6 years. I expect Sunday to be no different....until they win.
Home records are nothing magical, they come and go. Their home record (with VVD) won't strike fear in our players. It will motivate them even more to put in a performance and win.
