It is the defenders making individual errors but that is part of the game at times and something you cannot plan for.....
however the midfield being wide open is something you can plan for or at least try - we need physicality in there.....Gand lewis are not the answer and never were. Gundo when previously played as a 6 has been weak - even when he was at the top of his game....Lewis has never had the physicality to play in there and despite his technical ability he aint a midfielder as he has no idea what to do when he is on the edge of the area and gives the ball away/loses when pressed and then cannot get back ....
Look at some of the goals conceeded....quite often the opponents players (attackers and mids) are having a free run at whoever is at the back - usually the two centre halves as our fullbacks and midfielders are left training and cannot make recovery runs - opponents are just waiting for us to turn the ball back over to them and breaking on us through the middle of the pitch and down the wide channels.
The real reason why we all know that we are screwed until at least January and possibly May is that we all know that Pep wont change it - and why should he? - he has earnt the right not to after he has destroyed the prem league in the last 8 seasons - he has his way and he will stick to it...He will continue with a high line, he will continue asking his whole team to press onto the edge of the opponents penalty area. He wont ask the team to sit a little deeper or at least some of the defenders (namely whoever is at fullback) - to play high. He will continue to play upto the penalty area at walking pace allowing the opponents to get 11 men behind the ball. We actually have a team that could play in transition well with the likes of Haaland, Savihno, Nunes all being very quick and able to run in behind but Pep wont play that way as it would mean sitting the midfielders and back 4 and midfielders 10-5 yds deeper and conceeding possession
