Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

A bit concerning that we have one full injury in Walker (KDB on the bench) and the team looks knackered and disjointed.

Obviously missing the extra attacking forward that was Torres, a younger player to replace Fernandinho, an extra left back and the striker.

Our squad is thin and if we're going for all 4 cups each year those positions need filling - not just relying in Pep to work his magic.
Yesterday was about protecting the defence.

Walker, recent injury.

Dias, just back after a month

Injury to Stones, Laporte or Ederson would be a disaster for the run in.

Get away with playing 1 of Ake, Zinch and Steffen as part of the defensive 5 in a big game but not 2.
3 and you saw what happened yesterday.

Look how the Dippers collapsed last season when their 3 defenders were out.

We have options for the forward 6 positions but a strong defense is crucial.

The run in starts now, over the FA Cup already and I fucking hate it when the Cup final is not the last domestic game of the season, it's just fucking wrong!

Haha course you will.
No one says he doesn’t get things wrong. You said he threw the game on purpose, that’s a shit house comment.
wow, how thick can someone be. i'm glad he did what he did but if he wanted to win that game he doesn't start that side. his actions speak louder than your incredibly naive words.

Chelsea are playing largely the same team as last Tuesday and they look rather flat and lethargic against Palace. City were up against a side which bases its game on winning the ball back high up. They found this possible yesterday because Thiago, Fabinho and Keita who had been run out of the game last week were never really challenged yesterday. The two fullbacks were able to plat high up and get back with relative ease if/when necessary. Funnily enough Chelsea seem more lively now we are in the second half.

last one for me if we are chasing the League/CL as well. We just don’t take them seriously. The team and the support were poor yesterday and I think it’s about general disinterest in the competition and the frequent trips to Wembley. That said, I can’t say that I’m looking forward to the CL Final if we get there and it’s against Liverpool. We’ll be outnumbered again (although since we’ll get less than 20,000 tickets, we should easily sell them all and keep Liverpool fans out of our end). However, every corporate and ‘neutral’ seat will have a red shirt in it.
This 100%. If the management can’t be arsed with it then why should I?
