Liverpool (H) - Carabao Cup 4th Round - Post-Match Thread

The way Kevin dominated Thiago and co was awesome. For Belgium, he has a telepathic understanding with Lukaku when he's fit and in form. But at the WC the team were running round like headless chickens with no-one getting on the end of some incisive passes from Kevin.

Tonight, normal service resumed albeit at one point we should have been 4 - 1 up and in the end should have had 6 and they had a couple of chances.

Special mention for Rico as well - colossal and possibly goal saving tackle on Salah.

Klopp said all 3 of city’s goals were unnecessary??? We had 18 shots with 9 on target!! Especially the third one?? KDB’s cross for that one was one of many world class ones he delivered tonight.
Dunno what the defenders were doing. None of them went for the ball but None of them pushed out either. Shit cunts

Yep, their two goals were as easy as any they'll score this season and other than Nunez's awful miss, they produced close to fuck all in terms of chances. Certainly nothing through great play on their part. But apparently our goals were lucky. Brilliant movement and finish from Haaland, an incredible touch and strike by Mahrez, and a delicious cross to an admittedly badly-marked Ake for the winner.

One thing I'd say is that while I enjoyed most of the World Cup games, the standard of our attacking tonight was miles ahead of anything you'd see in that competition.
I don't mind the World Cup - domestic football and international football two parallel universes for me. But for me it's our great club that really matters.

Making scousers cry since May 2022, beautiful bastard.
Ah, I thought it was Rodri who turfed that shit over, not Gundog.

The holders are out, and fuckin' good riddance. The rest of the quarter finalists should be thanking us for delivering them from a shitty fixture v The Bootle Flare-istas.

I hope that's the last time we make any joint appeal with that club. If the word respect came in individual six-foot letters, and rammed up each Dipper arse it wouldn't register one jot!

Why is Micah agreeing with carragher talking shite and making excuses up
Going on about dipper youngsters finding it tough
They had carvalgo and Elliot who both start for them a lot
We had Lewis and palmer playing
You would think Nunez, salah, Thiago matip Milner Gomez etc were sat watching youth team!!!
When we actually did play the kids v then at the FA semi, we got absolutely zero sympathy from the press pigs, but they will spin this that billion dollar City beat their u12s including Skelmersdale utd loanee Darren Nunez
