I had expectations of this evenings game of being not much more than a friendly. All I can say is thank god real football is back. KDB was also in god mode.

Great performance tonight considering all the disruption from the WC. Make no mistake though, no one in blue was poor tonight. Sure, some made mistakes, Laporte got done for pace for the second but so many good things from us tonight, Thought Rico, KDB and Rodri superb tonight. Really happy with Aks znd thought Cole did really well. He's still learning but did a lot of good things.

Nunes looked dangerous for them.

By "dangerous" do you mean he might cost them a top 6 finish?

Anyone else think the officiating was leaning in one particular direction.

That boy was absolutely fabulous tonight. He was brave, quick, composed, aggressive, intelligent.

When you hear adulation for footballers for their age, it was amazing he wasn’t getting credit.

I also think they targeted him & tried to rough him up.

Thought Rico was immense and didn’t get the plaudits on TV he deserved. Been worried that we might struggle to eventually replace Walker (Cancelo better on left all day long for me), but genuinely believe this kid is the business. Superb performance.

I dislike Firminho but sending him off when he was not on the pitch (or even the bench) might be regarded as harsh ;)

A-fucking-men to that! Personally, I did not watch so much as thirty seconds of that circus in Qatar. Was hungry for football this evening. And it was a feast.
