How you'd dream about playing vs Liverpool that. After an edgy first 25 we got hold of the game, remembered we are better than them & utterly bossed it all over the pitch.

That XI that started today is the strongest we can field and with Cherki playing like that, we can unlock any defence. If the big man wants to hit the rich vein of form he's due right about now, that'd be welcome. Also a shout out to James Trafford who's been fantastic for us this season - that Pen save put the exclamation point on another top display.

So thorough was that undressing of one of the Red cartel that you can set your watch by the press headlines in the next week:-

Monday - "City 115 verdict due any day - could be a 60pt deduction"

Tues - "Pep is leaving in the summer"

Weds - "Rodri is off to Madrid"

Liverpool stayed organised and more than held their own for just over half an hour, but Haalands penalty settled the nerves, created gaps in the Liverpool rearguard, and his header then sent us into the break an impressive two goals to the good .... Trafford did okay when he had to, Bernardo was his usual busy self, Cherki played well, O'Reilly started to impose himself a bit more, two more goals followed, and we never really let up in the 2nd half .... that is until Pep's subs lowered the tempo in the final third of the game.

Before we scored, my view was that I was watching the 2 best teams next season. They crumbled in the end. But they are 2 players away from being our strongest opponents next season.

More like because it's his 32nd birthday in four months, and him and his missus fancy one last footballing adventure and a bit of sea an' sunshine in either Portugal or Spain

Salah is a shadow of his former self ,you could bet he would have scored those 2 chances against us a year or two ago. O´Reilly is getting better and better every week, such a talented young lad. Time to take down Chelsea and Arsenal again and this could end up being a really good season after all.
