Liverpool played at 50% against us

We look lost of everything, energy, tactics, passion, ideas. We had nothing
All of that stuff stems from the manager yet no one here wants to hear it.

Plenty happy criticising players but Pep is also grossly underperforming, there seems an acceptance from him that this can’t be changed which is even more worrying.

Given the spineless, gutless performances we’re seeing it seems he’s turning up to games expecting us to get beat and that’s translating to the players.

We should have played 3 or 4 youth or EDS players and leave a little bit on them and kicked them off the park,
100% if Liverpool swapped places with us today they would have kicked us off the park and taken a couple out of the game, The City team never even tried to fight Liverpool or get in their faces

Pep and The players waving the white flag does hurt badly, it sends out a message to the rest of the teams we face this season, if you want it more than City you win the game and they will fold.

Personally I think both players a big problem, They are both young although I think Savinho is ahead of Doku, The issue is goals from wide areas, I don't think wither will ever be capable of hitting bog numbers goals wise compared to what we used to have with Mahrez and Sterling.
They are not even close to where young Jesus, Sane or even Ferran were when they were starting with us. And to compare them to Julian is even preposterous. We have literally self-destructed with abysmal transfer policy, both in and out. Pep was prepared to destroy Laporte career after just one bad game and bench him and question his squad involvement. Ditto Sterling who always worked his ass off. And now he ended up with players that are Brighton or Wolves star potential at best.
But for me it is all Pep's doing, you can be in or out of form, but this something much more serious. The first time in 15 years we have no player to be categorized as a top one and able to turn the game by himself. Do not throw Rodri back at me because hi is not relevant for this season, Haaland even less when he need logistic and support equivalent to what an US Army unit has to be at his best.

Predictable and just a copy/paste of so many games.
1st 2 shots on target = 2 goals.
Pathetic defending.
Embarrassing set pieces at both ends again.
Zero goal threat and usual no end product from our wingers.
Slow midfield. Bought in Nico, despite his qualities again he offers no pace to the team. Pep not learning.
Picking players who cannot cut it anymore of woefully out of form,
Dippers declared after 2 like we used to do and conserve energy.
You just cannot see where a win is coming from with this team, esp when you look at the hunger, drive and energy of so many other teams.
Agree with your Nico point, it’s like pep couldn’t break the habit of a lifetime and despite us crying out for power and pace in midfield, he just couldn’t resist another technically good, slow CM that seemingly lacks the ability cover any ground.

That first goal was down to them having a good set piece coach where ours must spend his working week hiding in a cupboard playing games ( non football) on his phone.
How is he still employed

And Forest , Bournemouth, Villa , probably Brighton , the fact is we haven’t beaten one big team all season , fucking roll on end of the season, if we get top four it’s a miracle
Eddie Howe says "Hold my beer".....

Watching Kev get beat with a ten yard head start was sad to see.

Can't begrudge any of the old guard.

Need Phil to grab these games and he's not doing.
Foden’s become a fuckin mard arse who’s soft as fuck, the only thing he grabs these days is his barber with the “fancy” hair styles

Contrast how we played against Real in the last 10 minutes to how Liverpool played today. They closed the game out and we had no chance of getting through that red wall. We did the opposite v Real.

I don't think we played badly but we just didn't have much idea other than get it wide and hope something happens. Defensively I thought Lewis and Khusanov did well. However it's the midfield again that offered nothing defensively or going forward. KdB was dreadful - I don't see much point in playing him as he can't keep up. Liverpool strode forward when they wanted. Foden was anonymous again and Nico was ok. It doesn't matter which players play in our midfield they are either not good enough, too slow or not physical enough.

As for Liverpool they have won the league and I'm ok with that. The best team always wins the league and it's their year this year but we will be back. It's got to be said that Salah is different class. I wish we had him if I'm honest. His all round game is superb.

All in all, the Real and Liverpool game have shown how far we've fallen. Pep looks lost and is struggling with the plain fact his gameplay has been figured out. He should be mindful of Mourunho who was unstoppable until he wasn't. He failed to adapt to Peps way of playing. I think Pep should look at videos of the games v Klopp and take a few lessons. He needs to blend in pace and power into this team like Real and Liverpool .

Anyone. Nothing will change whilst he's there. It's gone, finished, it's not coming back and even the players don't believe in it anymore.
Based on that attitude you’d have binned David Silva after his first season.

We’d play til midnight and not score.

Thought khusanov looked very solid.
Nico looked ok without doung much good/bad.
Marmoush needs to sharpen up big time.

Of the old guard;
Sav looked bright enough but had nothing to aim for.
Foden, jeez hes fallen off a cliff hasnt he. Like us all he probs needs the season end to come.
Doku, energetic, but could have 10 to aim for in the box but still hit the legs of the first defender.
Gvardiol played ok v salah.

Puzzling that grealish didnt get a run. Looks like hes gone
I wouldn't count Savinho as part of the "old guard". He just got here. Agree on Khusanov, Nico, Foden and Mooch.

Doku was our brightest player today. Him and Savinho. He got no help and at times when he was saucing Trent there was no more than 1-2 City players in the box.

It says alot when James McAtee comes onto the pitch before Jack does. He must be so far down the list that he is likely done. And he probably is. Question though as to which team is willing to eat the last two years of his contract.

Pep isn't going anywhere. We are starting next season with him. It's more of a let's give him time to figure this shit out more than anything. He is ofcourse at fault but it is what it is.

The frustrating thing is I think Liverpool are bang average. They didn’t play well, we just didn’t fucking remotely get into the game.

It really pisses me off.

That’s the worst Liverpool team we’ve played in 10 years and we made it piss easy for them.
It really isn’t and Slot is much more tactical than Klipperty. If the score would’ve been 0-0 at the 75th minute, they still would’ve won it most probably. They do what is needed, much like we did the last 1-2 years although it wasn’t always the prettiest football we’ve played.
