Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

If buying your way out of problem is the only solution then probably you should get ready to be called a cheque book manager

Need of the hour is to adapt which hasn’t come
I hope he doesn't change.
He has developed a system that won him titles everywhere he went. It needs a certain caliber of players, we don't have it anymore.
Whether it was on him or the management, they have identified the mistake and are trying to fix it. The new guys looking good - Savinho, Nico, Khusa and Marmoush.
There'll be more signing this summer and we'll be back, playing Pepball. One shit season after four great ones is perfectly normal.

Not all bad that performance. We were always going to be a bit toothless without the big man up top, and silly defensive errors were our undoing again. However I thought Nico looked good in midfield, Khusanov was superb and Doku and Savio both caused them constant problems. Our heads never dropped and at no point was it a battering.

Now onto the negatives, De Bruyne is absolutely done, today just felt cruel. He's been an absolutely incredible player for us but time comes for everybody. Unfortunately, the man we all thought was going to fill his boots is looking even worse! Foden was appalling today, couldn't believe he finished the match. Absolutely dross from the first minute.

No. No stop it. I'm going to keep replying to every fucking person who thinks for one second we weren't just manhandled completely. They toyed with us.
This 100% . They totally controlled the game and let us have the possession and when we do fuck all with it and inevitably lose the ball they hit us on the break and scored with ease.

Cant believe im reading the shite i am that we somehow dominated

We weren't as bad as some say, but we had several players who were really poor. Foden and KDB were probably the worst players on the pitch. Rico should be nowhere near the starting XI vs. top teams.

Doku destroyed TAA, Savinho was good too.
Khusanov did very well.

Even at 70% Rodri will improve this team significantly. Wouldn't be surprised if he helped us compete and win the title next season.

Khusanov is great. Doku had TAA on toast and Savinho did repeatedly well against 2 defenders - both need to work on their end product still, but saying that, Foden and KDB were absolutely anonymous, so they didn't have much to aim at.

Lineup was very attacking minded but with the caveat that was obvious to everyone - KDB can't play at this level anymore and he was detrimental to attack & out of possession. There was a massive gap that Liverpool could pass into in the middle, which helped beat our piss poor press. There was a notable difference after KDB was, eventually, subbed off.

Pep needs to bin off the loyalty and just look at what the players can do for him now.

we didnt even lay a hand on them same as the Real game really...

wonder whats going on at trainings, like Pep and Lillo going deep into telling players how they can win the game or we just go through the motion and wrote this season off...

It was all bad. It was awful. What am I witnessing here. Please. They never even got out of 2nd gear.

If my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle.

Let's call a spade a spade, He's not good enough.
He’s still young.

But I’ve see a lot of players similar to him who were never able to develop an end product.
It’s worth one more season to see.

But we do seem to have too many players in his position.

Watched it in my golf club with the massive benefit of no sound so missed the undoubted wankfest over them.

Yet again fine margins at this level, they played like a team hungry to cement their lead whilst we were again lacking defensively at the key moments. You could argue their first was a well worked rehearsed routine but we looked leaden footed and their 2nd was cheap as fuck as well. Josko can’t get bumped off the ball but so many ball watching and no desire to be getting tight or blocking shots.

Conversely we played with plenty of personality and some good play but without our key players we looked like we could play all night and not score.

The sad reality is that there are 4+ lads that won’t recapture their physicality and will leave in the summer. We need their replacements to have good quality and age profiles to allow us to rebuild.

It’s tough watching us commit a kamikaze press every game, we can’t win the ball and we end up just giving teams a great counter attacking opportunity.

Doku was excellent in his initial role but his end product was lacking severely. Him and Sav are hugely promising, Khusanov is a player, will be exciting to watch him develop.

Need to dust ourselves off for Wednesday.

In truth you could see Liverpool were definitely playing within themselves. I liked the energy from Doku and Sav on the other side but the end product needs much more work - plus we need people to be gambling on the crosses that fizz across the box. Poor KDB has finished now surely? He looks tired, fed up, and he struggles to make the passes these days. Foden needs to buck his ideas up - his body language tells it's own story - maybe he's carrying an injury but he was a virtual passenger today. Marmoush will do well - he has plenty of passion, pace and energy and I can see him doing well playing off Harland when he comes back. The new lads at the back look ok - Kushanov especially looks like he's always up for a fight. Rico Lewis always makes me panic wherever he is playing, I never feel he can be trusted to do the basic stuff. The rest were ok but it's poor when you are bringing on the old men late in the game to try and get something - did Gundogan actually get the ball? Overall it's what was expected to be honest. We lost to the champions elect with a shadow of a team that is going through transition. A major clear out will come in the summer and with the right recruitment City can push on again. Till then, it's a chase for the top four and maybe, just maybe an FA cup win to ease the pain. CTID.
They are all besties with our players living in the Cheshire golden triangle, I’m sure they wanted to win but not humiliate. KDB was asking Salah if he could borrow his lawnmower at the end

Agreed.

They got it spot on today. They two past us without breaking a sweat.

We didn't dominate possession, They conceded possession, They were happy as a pig in shite letting us have the ball.

Big gulf between the teams.
I don't want it to be true but you are right. People will start calling people out now for being fanny wipes etc. but be fucking honest at least.
