It's not often you see Peter Sutcliffe pocketed but O'Reilly just did it and Gonzalez was absolutely fucking everywhere

Yep. Starting to tick is a good way to put it. Some of the player who have arrived over the last 12-18 months are now getting it.

We played absolutely brilliantly in this game. Hats off to the players. Doku was incredible, the guy’s taken his game to another level this season. Nico G has also been outstanding in the last few games. Berna worked his socks off, he was everywhere. And Nico O too - what a player he’s turning into for us at left-back, he was class again tonight. He’s clearly our number one for that position.

This back four is very solid and plays in front of a world class goalkeeper. Shout out to O'Reilly and Nunes who will be hard to displace. Dias and Gvardiol is a very solid pairing, and Nico Gonzalez in front of that has been a revelation - consistency and high quality every game.
Two in front of that back four and then the options across the four attackers is very, very hard to contain. Let's celebrate tonight and relish this work in progress because we have a young team blessed with absolutely world class potential in every position.

Doku, you earned some marital bliss tonight. Well done.

Only Gvardiol and Cherki were off it today, the rest of the team were superb.

I don’t think you’ll see many better individual performances than we saw from Doku today. He tore the entire Liverpool team to shreds.

Think Nico O'Reilly might just have locked down our left back position for the next decade! He totally nullifed Salah and it's funny how we've gone from not having a LB to having the best LB in Europe!

Nico Gonzales also has come of age.. didn't look like we missed Rodri at all today!

Excellent performance. Had a tactical plan and stuck to it. Their few chances came from our mistakes and we had plenty of chances as well (O'Reilly really needs to work on his shooting). Tired a bit 2nd half but stayed competitive.

Excellent performances all round, especially Doku, Nunes, O'Reilly and Dias. Foden and Bernardo were always bust closing down space and Gonzalez was his usual excellent self. It wasn't Cherki's day though and he couldn't get into the game. Not sure what Gvardiol was doing that 2nd half though, nearly every time we tried to play out from the back he made really bad passes, giving the ball away constantly.

Really pleased with that and a well deserved 3 points. We're not 100% there yet but we're getting there.

Cherki and Savinho both need to man up in these big physical games ,but this team is much better than it was a year ago.
