Happy new year everyone. This was the best result we have had in a while, lets face it klopp had got pool playing above themselves and I think they thought that their usual bullying/intense press game was gonna work as it has done against us recently, hence their midfield line up, but boy did we play well, sure we had a couple of nervy goalmouth scrambles but every player found the necessary will/courage/energy/skill and determination required( thanks to Pep I think) and we rattled them from early in the game not allowing them the usual start they are used to. Remember it was us who had the pressure of having to win, and against our worst bogey team unbeaten in the league so far, who, had they won could have been 13 points ahead by the time we played in the league again, that is massive pressure, but we were up to it.They looked shocked and deflated after the game, and if we can go on and win the league now this game will have been the turning point, bring it on.Btw I think the ref did extremely well, despite the dippers post match rhetoric there were no truly contentious decisions thankfully, we won fair and square and that is gonna hurt them.

Oh last season in the Champions League they just chucked all pretence of impartiality in the bin before kickoff in the first leg of the quarter final. That was proper Carta Blanche down to giving Klopp his buddy as ref in both the quarter and the semi. Watch the first 15 minutes of the final again though and you'll see the Liverpool players repeatedly warned by the ref about illegal physicality in the tackle.
Disgraceful choice of refs for both games, so deliberate, and apart form on here, very little said about the bus wrecking

Not like Liverpool fans to invent stories of victimization and then disappear at a mention of complaints to police or charges being pressed.

Not that I'm saying coins weren't thrown, I'm sure some were. Just not sure that (a) it was on the industrial scale painted by the Liverpool echo and (b) that those with the biggest stories of woe were actually at the game.

What! Couldn't we be bothered to harass a disabled kid this time? Our standards are slipping.

Exactly how I see. It illegally stops us from playing whilst the other way round it stops us from defending. It then has to change the way we play.
But we’ve also suffered some big decisions in games against Liverpool over the last few months.

Better stop before we’re accused of being bitter or ‘tin foil hat types’
I fully agree with you both; forever moaning at the match to the daughter about these incidents. It fucking amazes me that the posters on here who desperately need to be seen as the most balanced blue in the world, end up being some of the most blinkered.
Bottom line we get reffed differently; time wasting by keepers being my current favorite but the general grabbing, pulling of shirts etc that we suffer are exactly what the likes of Neville accuse us of.

Ha ha no bit of a trick post really , no drove to poulton le flyde after the game, stayed at a mates house , stayed last night too cos it was his 50th.
So unfortuately I wasn't wandering the streets going from pub to pub.
Was a Liverpool fan there but not really a die-hard one he thought it was a good game and the best team won
You did well to get back so soon. Having been brought up in poulton-le-fylde you did well to get back to 2019 from the 1980s in only two days!

Just watched it again for the 4th time, twice each in english and spanish narration because the missus wouldn't let me pump up the volume to eleven at three in the wee hours. The two english narrators (dunno who the fuck are they, btw) were amazed at the noise level and said City fans needed to keep it for the whole 90+ minutes, which the blue faithful did with flying colours.

Blue fans, you were mega, you created out of your blue guts an incredible atmosphere (though I hate the term due to dippers) relentless and hostile towards those cheating diving cúnts. It was totally spontaneous, what a difference compared to that choreograph bollocks and karaoked dirge those red ponces built their self deluded myth on. And, to top it off, no traffic beaters nor early leavers this time, you stood till the very fucking end. Bravo.
Meanwhile the Liverpool Flatearthers Cult, unsurprisingly have produced the assorted excuses out of their a hundred and twelve millimetres collective conscious, stoked by the media roaches, fuck them pool lifeforms.

Was the atmosphere good enough for us to be able to use the phrase ‘a great night under the Etihad lights’?

I’ve said this so many times now I am sure most are sick of reading it, but cynical/petulant fouls like “rugby” tackles, shirt pulls, and kicking the ball away—which are all generally unambiguous and thus not open to interpretation—should be red card offences, regardless of where they occur on the pitch, so as to reduce their frequency.

They are a blight on the game and need to be stamped out, pardon the pun. It will affect us, of course, as our players will need to adjust to it, but it would more significantly impact many of the less skilled teams like Cardiff, Newcastle, and United much more (as they employ those tactics against the better teams to try to balance the scales, hurting the quality of the matches in the process), for the benefit of football.

In future we have to remember that it's the done thing to roll out the red carpet offer finger food and make the grass the right scouse length so that they can enjoy the day.

On the other hand they can brick our coach and assault our players, and claim it to be high spirits.

Inbreds.

Inbreds - I like that - sums the weird fuckers up
