Fuck me this thread, we did enough to win but our go too guy missed a pen, only negative is Foden not getting on, Cancelo looks like he is really getting there and let’s be honest Diaz and Laporte handled pretty much everything.
 
Suppose it’s good point against Liverpool.

Thought they were frightening in the first 20 mins then we started to take control.

Cancelo my man of the match, absolutely superb.

Our build up play is so pedestrian though and looking at the starting midfield we shouldn’t have expected anything else with regards to going forward.

Just think the players need a good rest, they look both physically and mentally tired. And it’s a bloody pisstake that we have an international break with more pointless games.
 
Not the best of performances, we're just not clicking & not bossing games anymore & the fear factor we once had has now gone.
I'll take a point though, it's going to be a long & strange season.

Thought Laporte and Dias were very good. If Otamendi had been put into just a handful of those situations which Dias Dias dealt with easily, it is likely we would have conceded at least once.

The defence is fine, IMO. The issue is the midfield. They often don't shield the defence well enough and regularly fail to provide the forwards with ammunition.

It's becoming a regular occurrence that the midfielders are often out of position.

KDBs fitness is a major issue. When the opposition have posessessiom he is far too often on the wrong side of the ball.
 
I really really think Sterling (and Mahrez) should be benched the next game. I hope Pep make sure they know this is unacceptable. They both are too wasteful. We’re supposed to be one of the best teams in the world. This is kids playing, getting a brainfreeze every goddamn time.

I’m so sick of seeing him wasting big chances, week in and week out. When will it stop?

The club can’t possibly be serious about handing him 3-400k a week. He is nowhere near close enough to deserve that. That’s basically the club saying ”keep going Sterling, it’s OK you’re wasting 3-4 chances every game. From time to time, you score.”
