Liverpool (H) - Post-Match Thread

Half decent point, but so so disappointed that Pep shitted out of going for the win - Foden was stripped and ready, even though it was ridiculous as it was after 83/84 mins anyway, but then didn’t even bring him on.

Sterling was fucking hopeless as usual against them, Kev just not on it at the moment, and the less said about the Gundo/Rodri double pivot the better.

He wouldn't have gone for the win with Foden, he'd have taken Jesus off.

Sky making a massive fuss about a penalty given against the dippers - which they would apply the same scrutiny to the penalties awarded to them. Biased shite.

No team is getting another penalty against the dippers this season.

I’m talking about this game... he fucked up... it’s relevant to the Liverpool post-match thread but I’ll humour you... I’ll let others (who seem to agree) get my point across...

KDB scores we win.
The "others" haven't posted the same point over and over.

Disappointed not to win with De Bruyne's miss and Jesus missing a sitter, but I don't think we are far away from it. The defence has been fixed, which is what we were screaming out for, now we have to fix up top. Sergio getting fit goes a long way, but we need to seriously consider adding something else up top in January. Before the penalty miss De Bruyne was starting to boss the game, but that killed his confidence. Foden should've come on with Bernardo I thought, game was screaming out for his energy. But not all doom & gloom we aren't far off, the Spurs game will be a tough one though.

The game as a whole suffered in the second half with all the games that are being played atm. Both sides were happy with a point, and looked dog tired after 60 minutes.

FIFA, UEFA & the FA should be ashamed of themselves and their greed. They'll counter it by saying look at the table and how even it is, but the players are just running on fumes in early November. Now they're all off for internationals in a pandemic. Absolute bollocks that.

This is from the Guardian match summary, the first half was apparently one of the greatest ever in English football history.!!!. Presumably because Liverpool were decent. The greatest team ever apparently

Jesus christ the amount being made about the handball decision. Come on Micah, remind everyone about the Trent handball that wasn't given last season.

When YaYa and Mario Balotelli took a penalty....it was going In.......Augero ..KDB ...and everybody else makes me very nervous......We blew it again....not having a go at KDB but the few he has took have been scuffed....
Really needed a win today......I dont understand why Villa put 7 past them and we struggle.....at home as well...

You reckon one of Gundo/Rodri plus Bernardo would be better in the middle? That’s what I’d like to see.

I agree about the goals against, it’s the goals for I’m concerned about. We aren’t scoring enough to win games and we seem very reticent to attack at the moment. I’m sure Pep has a plan but I cant even start to guess what it is.

He's changing our / his style mate.

He's accepted we cant rely on out scoring everyone and he's putting much more thought into the defensive element.

It's not as exciting or entertaining but I like it and I like that he's accepted it needs doing.

It's early days but it looks like Pep is evolving City's style.

If he is extending his contract I can see your point of view and makes sense. If he isn’t you could argue he is seeing the season out. Works both ways as far as I am concerned.

Should have called it a draw at sixty minutes, both sides looked knackered. Fantastic goal from Jesus, De Bruyne has plenty in the credit column to excuse his pen. don’t think we are good enough to win the league this season, if Ain’t us I couldn’t give a bollox who does.

Lot of exaggeration on here. We go for it and they likely break and score like they have done to us before.

media narrative seems to be they were “robbed” by the handball decision. Notwithstanding the fact it was a handball all day long under the old rules, the penalty was missed and had no bearing on the game whatsoever.
