Liverpool (H) | Post-Match Thread

I know Grealish will get the plaudits, but Stones in mid is just a standout for me. He reads the game so well that he doesn't have to panic. His positioning is superb, his calmness and ability to find space and make a pass to a free player compliments Rodri's hectic style.

I knew he's make a great mid and I hope Guardiola only uses him in emergencies for defence. His future is in the middle and, unfortunately, that might mean letting Philips go.

As people know, I've stated Rico Lewis isn't ready for this level and Stones shows exactly where he should get to.

Superb individual performance and superb team game.

John is at least as good as Rice as a midfielder imo.

We were good in the first half, annoying to go behind to goal we always concede against them. Didn't drop our heads though, and got ourselves level with a lovely old style City goal.
Second half ? We just taught them a lesson, we were everywhere, controlled the game. Even when we lost possession we won it back almost immediately. How often did they get in our penalty box second half? Think it was only once.
Well played City and thanks!

Shocking you did not mention John Stones, he got better and better as the game went on. He looked like Franz Beckenbauer.
Hence the word ect :) I could have name all the starting 11. Stones was fabulous in the second half. I actually thought he was poor in the first half.

Don't forget Alexander-Arnold can see things other players can't see........

Since getting in from the game I've seen Richard Keys moaning in no uncertain terms about Pep celebrating in front of Liverpool's subs, Henry Winter criticising the booing of Milner when he came on and the club apologising for some "inappropriate chants" from the home fans. Ffs...we're the most micro analysed club on the planet. Given the shit we've had to take over the years from opposition teams and fans, it's ridiculous.
How about when Klopp went bananas running on the pitch that time when Pickford made a town halls of a cross, come shot, leading to L’pool taking the lead in the last minute in the derby. I suppose that was him just being jovial?

Called it last night, that could be the catalyst to his confidence that says ‘I belong’…. Caution though, Terence trent Darby looked like andy hill today (:
I’ve been one of very few on the Jack thread saying he’s a fucking brilliant player mate.

He’s got his head round us and us round him now and he looks very very at home.

I love the man.

He really is shit. Still should have had a yellow though.
Same as that other ****, fabinho. Rodri makes two fouls, gets a yellow.
Skeleton makes two fouls, gets a talking to.
I have never really followed or watched Arnold play before but know he carries a lot of hype. He doesn't have a clue how to defend and reminded me a bit of Maicon's short stint with us.

There was definitely a bit of 'luring Fabinho in' going on in the first 10 minutes. After that third incident and the talking to by the ref, we didn't hear or see from him again.

We don't really know that though... Your kind of guessing based on estimates given.
I had my appendix taken out 10 days before a rugby tour to the states and I wanted to play a game while I was there. I played no8 against the Atlanta renegades and split my stitches. Fucking stupid really but I was young and sports mad and didn’t want to waste the opportunity.
