With the league gone it's hard to get up for this game particularly after last night. A season that promised so much is fizzling out before the clocks go forward.

Ridiculous overreaction. Some of the mellow drama on here is stunning.

We need to win this game, or, at least not lose. Top four is important and if you can't get excited at the thought of giving the dippers a brubbing you can't have been a Blue for long.

Let's hope the players and fans in the Etihad are more up for this than some on here.

Not in a long time, doesn't mean you shouldn't get excited by the prospect/potential. Saying you can't get up for the game because we probably won't win the league and went out of the CL is silly.

As for insults, eh, if the shoe fits.

Pep is not inspiring the fans or the team looks like - it came out when for Stoke game Pep decided not to field the best eleven, giving up on PL before the fans and players did. His approach of focusing only on CL or FA cup at that time has come back to bite.

Come on mate, we've been in the middle of a pretty incredible run since Gabriel Jesus arrived, broken several club records in that time.

A draw against Stoke should change little.

And? We have to move on, shit all we can do about the Champions League now, but top four is in our hands and we need to be up for it.
 
Absolutely dreading this game as I always do, think they will be fresh and really up for it and we will be flat after last night
Saying that I didn't fancy it before last night
A win Sunday will make me a very very happy man and I'll see it as a huge bonus and seal a top 4 spot

Last time I was so sure we'd get beat at home was Spurs and although we only drew we battered them so hopefully a performance like that eh :)

I keep reading this but only Sterling was left out for a much inferior player in Navas, Silva was replaced by KDB, the fact him and Fern were poor on the night doesn't mean we played a weakened team, in fact if we've got to rely on Silva every time we play the likes of Stoke we may as well replace the whole bloody lot of them.
Sterling had been poor the game before, Sunderland and wasn't great last night either so you can't blame Pep for leaving him out.
Can't play the best 11 every game, especially when we're playing twice a week, it's as simple as that.

He played Sterling and Silva along with KDB for the FA cup tie and one could see the large number of chances created compared to one against Stoke. It came down to what does he prioritize FA cup or PL - I think he should have given the best eleven against Stoke. 8 points behind with our game against Chelsea would mean at least making the deficit 5 was in our hands, that is if he really believed and wanted to go for it but he gave up too early in my thinking.

And he played KDB, Yaya and Fernandinho against Stoke and that should have been enough to get 3 points.

If he played them and then not v Middlesboro he'd be getting slated for not taking it seriously enough and for not trying to win the most realistic trophy available, he can't win in some eyes.

Once again i'll say it, You can't play the best 11 every single game!!

The best thing it's actually done is show that our squad is nowhere near go enough.

Maybe that's part of the problem. He has actually tried mostly to play the best 11 for most matches particularly in midfield and upfront and now when he has to call on players like Fernando, Nolito, Navas Delph and Kelechi, it is no surprise when they show nothing because they have had pretty much zero game time.

Problem we have is that Fernandinho and De Bruyne are in a very poor run of form and both realistically should be dropped but who do you bring in?
 
Can anyone shed some light on wtf Kompany is. Thought he was fit ? If he'd played last night we'd be through. He MUST play Sunday if fit.

Vinny has played a few minutes here and there for nearly a whole season,dropping him into one of our biggest games won't happen
