In all honesty, I think it’ll be a repeat of the second leg of the champions league game last season where we were great in the first half but didn’t put away our chances and they then grew into the 2nd half and bury their 2 biggest chances of the game.
I seem to recall City taking our chances very well in the first half, but the anti Catalonian Spanish referee was taking them off us...... City had to come forward which exposed us at the back, naturally. This is a one off game and different. Keep the faith :)

In many ways its a title decider. 10 points clear and its pretty much over bar a long term injury to Van Dyke. 4 points is still a lot to pull back but doable. We basically cant afford to drop any more points from here on in.
Agree... Somewhat. I think winning will make them miss a step and leave them even more vulnerable to missing further steps. There will be doubt placed and we... CITY... will be galvanized after this tough stretch. We will have belief and we will overcome the 4 points.

They still have several tricky games after us this season, as well as those who will be fighting for their lives to stay in the league as the curtain starts to drawer for the season. I am hoping we take them on Thurs and, even if we drop points, there are still several hard games for them

Eddie
Walker
KimpaKo
Laporte
Zinchencko
Dihno
David
Bernado
Sterling
Sane
Aguero.

0:0 @ Anfield, Liverpool's midfield was Milner, Henderson & Wijnaldum, with Salah,Mane and Firmino.

Their midfield will likely be stronger this time as Henderson unlikely to be in starting 11 on Thursday.

If KDB not starting this tie, [he didn't at Anfield], we will have similar starting eleven but without Mendy

due to his injury and with maybe Sane starting instead of Mahrez, particularly with Mendy not available.

We played a game plan at Anfield with KDB missing and i thought we deserved the three points that day.

If KDB doesn't start it's going to be tough versus a Liverpool side with a stronger quicker midfield than at

Anfield. However, regardless of KDB in the starting line-up or not, we can beat this Liverpool team if we play

our short sharp passing interplay & crucially take our chances when they come. When you play your biggest

opponents you have to take your chances, we simply cannot miss any clear cut chances, as Liverpool wont.

Liverpool front three will fall to ground with the slightest touch, if at all, so don't give ref opportunity to blow.

Hopefully, we can get a goal ahead before Fernandinho gets a yellow. Take our chances and we will win this

Huge game, close the gap and win this it will put them under even more pressure and scrutiny. As previous blues have said in this thread, we need to make sure we are on our A game especially in front of goal. If the opportunity arises to actually take the shot then take it - dont over play it in the liverpool box, get the shot off and bag the goals

Nice early pressure

Going to be a great game

I feel that we will need to score at least 3 to get anything out of this one.

The last time any of the top 6 goals conceded 2 goals in the Premier League:

Arsenal 29th December

Spurs 29th December

City 26th December

United 16th December

Chelsea 5th December

Liverpool 21st April

Totally agree, unless its Mahrez, apparently he should always pass - according to his thread

I don't think the league will be decided purely on this game And my guess is that both Pep and Klopp feel the same way There is still a long way to go and in case we've forgotten, this is the the Premier League where anything can and usually does happen. There will be more twists and turns in the remaining games.

This is not a cup or a knockout game and I suspect that both managers' priorities will be to avoid defeat. Liverpool are coming sit back, cede all possession to us and try to absorb all the pressure But if we go into this with a gung-ho approach, they have the tools to punish us.

My prediction is that there will not be more than 2 goals in this game. Unless one of the managers gets too brave. Then we'll get 5+.

Fearing the worst, but I always do (and have done) with us in big games.

If we win I still think with the added pressure of 2 league cup semi final games and possible final, which Pep will put out full strength teams for we’re big outsiders with them having a 4 point advantage and additional rest.

In all honesty, I think it’ll be a repeat of the second leg of the champions league game last season where we were great in the first half but didn’t put away our chances and they then grew into the 2nd half and bury their 2 biggest chances of the game.

However, I’m more upbeat after today’s performance. CTID.
Semi final shouldn’t have the big hitters out playing - it’s burton over 2 legs

Huge game if we're to retain the title. Hopefully De Bruyne will be available again after missing out today, but left-back is the most pressing issue in terms of team selection. I'd go:

Ederson
Walker
Kompany
Laporte
Danilo
Fernandinho
De Bruyne
D Silva
Sterling
Sane
Aguero
Well picked Pep. The on team I feel confident we could beat them with. No one carried and other than possibly Mendy our strongest team

I dont know why but I am really looking forward to this... It's been pressure pressure all the way for City last few years and it's nice that we can start putting pressure on instead of taking it on..... I especially liked the spirit of the city fans at Southampton singing "we'll fight to the end" because that's what City do best, throughout all the years we have fought and fought to the end.

And if you look at it from a different angle, we're the ones who have spent less, and we're struggling with injuries to ALL of our key players, we're the ones without the media behind us, our club and fans constantly belittled, we have no pundits fighting our corner, the players get no real recognition for their hard work and talent, we dont have the clickbait appeal of the history boys.... We're constantly having to fight for our place, we never have it as easy as the big clubs with all their media friends and positive spin. We are the underdogs in all of this....

...and we have to fight what is coming.... 5 or 10 years of media-sponsored domination of the league by one (big) club again (which helps to sell premier league brand around the globe)! Without the City's of this world we are going to be subjected to one-team propaganda for a generation, again.

Right, back to sleep, had to get that off my mind.
