Going in hope more than expectation. We are still some way from where we need to be and they aren’t anywhere near as bad as some might say. We can’t afford any defensive fuck ups or giving the ball away cheaply in midfield, these fuckers know where the nets are. A draw wouldn’t be that bad a result.

I like this team very much. The thing about Cherki is this. He's unpredictable. Everybody else in that line-up, you pretty much know what you're going to get. Cherki will give the ball away more — and Pep hates that — but I think a player like that can be a nightmare for people like Van Dijk and indeed that whole Liverpool back line. I do suspect that Pep will play Bernardo, because he loves the experience factor in the big matches. I would pick Cherki, because of what I've just said — but I'm pretty sure he won't.

They are a very good team and their midfield in the last couple of games has started to click. However, defensively they can be got at and I hope Haaland targets Konate who is definitely their weak link this season.

Ake LB in 2025 v Salah is some take.
Our defeat in this fixture last Feb ended the title race leaving us 11 points adrift in fourth. It was Liverpool's first time winning successive away games at the Etihad in the league since 2015-16 - the teams with Sky player ratings were

Man City: Ederson (6), Lewis (6), Khusanov (6), Ake (5), Gvardiol (6), Nico (6), Savinho (7), De Bruyne (4), Foden (6), Doku (7), Marmoush (6).

Subs: Mcatee (6), Gundogan (n/a), Dias (n/a), Kovacic (n/a).

Liverpool: Alisson (7), Robertson (5), Van Dijk (7), Konate (7), Alexander-Arnold (5), Mac Allister (6), Gravenberch (6), Jones (6), Szoboszlai (7), Salah (9), Diaz (8).

Subs: Tsimikas (6), Endo (6), Gakpo (n/a), Elliot (n/a), Quansah (n/a).

City don’t have all the tools to win the title this season. Center back and left back are weak. Nico G is still developing. Bernie is no longer a reliable midfielder. Cherki is still young. Doku and Savinio are not reliable. So better take it easy with this game.

If the ref protects us from the marauding thugs, there won't be a problem. But a refereeing system that has been set up against City, I can't see it.
The refereeing quality need to improve. So many new cheat strategies being implemented. Sabotaging keeper, dropping like turds in the box on every set pieces, and many others.
We don't get the penalties or freekicks since Klopp's manipulation etc.

So how many do you think we will win by?

That Arsenal result tonight means we can put a little bit of pressure on them with a win tomorrow. Arsenal thought they'd be clear and I think it's just another example of this league being stronger than in normal years. There's very few genuinely poor teams and any of the top 15 are capable of taking points off the others.

I really hope we beat Liverpool tomorrow. If we do, we will move into genuine title contenders but I'm also hoping we don't get a Pep brain fart doing something like playing no defensive midfielder, playing 3 at the back, no wingers - the kind of thing he's capable of that nail the team.

Personally I think the key battle is simply Haaland v VVD. We all know who will win it. We simply have to make sure that we ping the ball in front of Haaland as often as we can. I think if Haaland, Doku, Foden and Cherki are on form we will score, simple as that. We just need the defence to keep them out.

I fancy us tomorrow to win, probably 2-1.
