With our porous defence I still expect the odd caning, but it's great to relish games like this again, as opposed to fearing them like last season.

We have conceded 4 goals in 7 league games since the loss at Brighton. Our defence is good.

Liverpool's defence was quite porous a week ago. They have been better the last two games.

That said, I expect a high-scoring game: say, 3:2 City.

Oh the numbers look good, but we've given up so many chances, it feels like we've been riding our luck a bit.

The last 15 minutes of the derby was a typical example - reminiscent of last season's run-in, when I'd never seen so many glaring opportunities missed, or so many balls hit our woodwork.

I don't think Ekitike will be missing many of those chances.

Still, it would be unrealistic to expect things to change overnight, at least we are looking lively up the other end. I fancy us to sneak it on Sunday.

go back to the set up that beat bournmouth....more solid and stil very attacking.....

Bernardo next to Nico G is a better option than Nico G with Reijnders at present.

OReilly at left back
Nunes or Khusonov at right back...probably Nunes as he has earnt it at present.

This is unless Rodri is able to start - which is highly unlikely Im guessing - but you just never know

In terms of xGA over the last 6 PL games, we have conceded about as many chances as Arsenal. And we were without a proper DM at Villa where we struggled in the first half.

Our defence is doing well. Hopefully the trend continues vs Liverpool.

Not for me. Bernando was great against Bournemouth. Defensively we need to be switched on and I’m not sure Reijnders is that man.
Bernardo not playing last night indicates he will start and as we know he loves to gaslight the dippers.
This would be a big win but I think we may have to settle for a share of the points as this is a season defining game for these rats and one they dare not lose. 2-2 draw.

Time will tell - let's hope your statistics are genuinely cause for optimism and that last night I imagined us back-pedalling and inviting the attacker into the box, as always.

Or standing 8ft away and hoping to block an unhindered cross instead of closing the ball down?

You don't see this from us?

Anyway, we both think we'll win on Sunday - let's just agree on that :-)

Those chances came after we were 2-3 goals up and switched off (partly due to tiredness, they had 2 more days to prepare for the game).

I honestly think we’re going to batter them.

I don’t think I’d take a single player of theirs over ours, which considering they’d won the quadruple already in the summer says a lot.
I do like Szoboszlai, I think he’s a cracking player. I’d give him a place on our bench haha

Gonna be over on Merseyside to watch the women’s team at Goodison on Sunday afternoon.
That’s due to finish about 4.20pm so hoping to find an Everton supporting pub to watch this men’s match in. What could possibly go wrong.

For fun, our XI that lost at home 0-2 vs Liv in January...

Jesus, when you see that you realise how much has changed.

Ederson gone
Lewis ousted by Nunes
Dias back in place of Khusanov
Ake barely featuring now
Nico becoming the player we thought he'd be
KDB gone
Doku now has the end product to go with his dribbling
Foden back to something close to his best

City vs. Dortmund was a much higher-intensity game than Liverpool vs. Real.

Both City and Dortmund covered about 120 km.

Liverpool ran 109 km, and Real just 106 km. Dortmund put in much more effort than Real.

Real were lazy. If they play like that against us in Madrid, they are unlikely to win the game.

If we can run 120 km again, Liverpool will suffer.
