I have no idea where the myth that he is injury prone came from. Last season he got injured. The season before that he played 46 games.

In the four seasons before that at Athletico he played 40 games in 3 of the seasons and 49 games in one of them.

Taking into account being knocked out of cups and being rested in League Cup games/Champions League dead rubbers that means he has been capable of playing pretty much every game before the injury last season.

Just had a look at Liverpools bench tonight and it really isnt the best is it!!

Riera, Babel ,Spearing, Plessis, Cavalieri, Voronin, Kyrgiakos.

Part of that has to do with the homegrown rule they already have in place for the champs league but i take your point, wouldn't have any of them anywhere near our squad.
