Strange one the Charity/Community shield, it basically passes most neutrals by.Really looking forward to this now. Not usually that bothered about the Charity Shield as it’s essentially just another pre-season friendly, but that fact it’s against Liverpool makes it more meaningful. Would be nice to make an early statement of intent.
Obviously I remember the ones City are in, but apart from the one where Kevin Keegan and Billy Bremner ended up scrapping back in the 70s , I really don't recall too many.
(Most 'neutral 'FA Cup and League Cup finals I do at least have some memory of!)
Can't say I was massively bothered last year against Leicester. Tomorrow I guess is a bit different, if only to shut our totally impartial media up. If they win it will obviously be the start of the quest for the unprecedented Quindruple(is that a word??) If we win the press will just dismiss it as a another pointless friendly!
