In all honesty this was always the most likely situation. Either the clubs agreed to a settlement in exchange for dropping the case, or they're still building up evidence for said case, or they realised they couldn't make the charges stick, or the clubs hushed up the court case because they decided that the revelations coming out of the courtroom could make both teams look really bad. All roads lead to one eventuality - that the press runs out of new things to say and the clubs manage to let the case drop without any negative connoitations. I really don't think the clubs involved - whoever the 2nd club is - consider the fans wanting to know all the juicy details to be a valid reason not to keep the whole matter as silent as possible.
