The most encouraging take-away from the game was that the team elevated itself in a must win game. Bodes well for further upcoming games in the league and the chumps league.
Doku was outstanding and would have ripped any defense apart with his performance.

He covered more ground than anyone else on the pitch, with the exception of Foden, but in key locations, picking up the ball, dictating the play, and controlling the tempo.

Having rewatched the game I think Cherki and especially Gvardiol deserve lower ratings, 6.5 each. O'Reilly deserves an even higher rating than Nunes, so I switched their ratings. Think Bernardo and Donnarumma deserved slightly higher ratings too.

I just love watching a tricky dribbler and have been an admirer since he arrived, while plenty doubted his potential. Fair enough, he did show some limitations, but we’re all now seeing what this lad is capable of.

Once Cherki assimilates fully, and the Viking continues to bang em in, we’ll have an attack that nobody will want to face.
