Liverpool - post match thread.

Sadly, it was exactly what I expected. Boring, flat, slow, predictable, aimless football. Again. We improved 2nd half but they had 1 shot on target and won the game. One.

I read somewhere recently that the manager doesn't go in the dressing room before the game. This, for me, is the single reason for us being slow starters if true. I also think we need to stop treating games like they're training sessions. We started well today for the first 3/4 minutes and then it went to shit. We can't defend, can't create, won't shoot and lack passion and desire. Time after time it seems as though teams want it more than we do.

Guardiola needs time, however, he's one stubborn bloke, maybe he's earned the right to be, but this is shite. Proper shite.

We need to play quickly. When we do, we score goals, we frighten teams and we can get through them. I could have played in that game today.

Boring.

I can tell you for a fact that is bollocks about Pep. He respects the changing room being the players domain but he enters always 15/10 mins before kick off to give his speech and reiterate tactics.

As an isolated match we didn't play badly at all. The problem is the points dropped at home to Southampton, Everton and Middlesbrough means every bad result now leaves us slipping further away from the top.

Got to wonder why Pep thought spending 17m on Bravo and shipping out Hart was a bigger priority to the rest of the defense.
That has fuck all to do with us not being able to score. Hart would have made no difference today. What worries me most if the turgid tippy tippy play in the last third. There is no penetration. None. It's fucking shit.

Think a lot of the criticism a bit harsh.
It is to be fair, because the players can only go out there and do what they're told to do, and I'm sure they're doing that. I'm not sure how long we need to employ this particular possession-based style, with umbrella passing round the oppo 18 yard box, before we realise it isn't working especially against the better teams. What's that Einstein insanity definition???

Out of the current top 6 we look the most vulnerable. Big fight on our hands to stay in the top 4 I reckon.

Extremely disappointing end to a poor year - Pep has a massive job on his hands and being ten points behind 1st at the turn of the year is a poor return after such a good start. Underwhelmed by him so far but I'm not sure whether it's more down to the fact that he's polishing some massive turds (with the biggest steaming pile of shit being the goalkeeper that he brought in).

I do have some sympathy with him, as like others have sad, this apathy has been running through this squad for a good 2 years or so now.

Too early to blame Pep because these players have showed the same amount of appetite last season and the season before. Physically they look weak, not prepared to put the hard yards in to close down or take any responsibility.

The 2012 side arguably on paper was much weaker with the likes of Lescott, Johnson, Richards but it was physically imposing, organised and had a number of different options such of how to score goals.

We now have a side of midgets, with only one way of playing and a number of players who, although technically excelkent, are not prepared to fight, challenge to win posession are stop the other side from playing.

In that case the DoF is to blame, buying spineless average players for the past 2 full seasons not including this one.

But heh, he's brought Pep in.

Pep got completely outclassed by Klopp today. Respected our possession and decided to play a defensive set up and hit us on the break. Really impressed with Klopps versatility. They kept their shape and allowed us nothing going forward. Poor performance from the City players especially Sterling, Kolarov, Aguero, Toure and KDB. Only Otamendi,Silva and Zabba seem to want it today. 1 step forward 2 steps back.
Stop gobbling Klopp. Embarrassing lad.

Boring as fuck but it wasn't a surprise. We just waste time with the constant obsession with lateral passing with no urgency what so ever. At least Stirling looked like he could be arsed.
