Liverpool - post match thread.

Great ticker from the lads, profligate again but I loved the attitude, Merlin put in one fucking mighty shift.

The pundits were ready to write the obits so fuck em

completely agree..they were getting very excited about the idea of us suffering from tiredness...but we found another gear and liverpool retreated. There was only one team trying to win it after Kun scored.

If miliner was playing for city and by a miracle he did that tackle on sterling and not red carded with a pen rewarded he media would be all over that and make a massive deal out of it.

On the NBC coverage they were all over it to be fair, and the pundits were unanimous in their view on the occasions they showed replays of it.

Fair result in the end.

Lallana missed a complete sitter. Horrible defending by Sagna btw. Aguero also missed two sitters. What has happened to him lately? Scores the tough goals but misses the easy chances, not good enough again in an important match. He is writing his own story.

Stones and Otamendi were both excellent as was Willy who kept us in the game with some crucial saves. Dinho was very good as well. Clichy horrible as was Sagna who came in and almost cost us the game.

Clear penalty on Sterling, Milner didn't even touch the ball. What does Sterling have to do to get a decision?

A very entertaining game to watch, especially for the neutral.

Good point I guess.

However the same old shit...ref screws us and we miss chance, after chance, after chance...

And this is why he may be on his way in the summer, we are all emotionally attached to Aguero but Pep isn't. He will be looking at the cool facts of th last week. If we had Lewandowski up from we would more than likely still been in Europe and two points better off today.

Love Aguero but h isn't clinical enough.

cold hard facts - 7 goals in 7 games......

why get rid of him....? we don't need to, we can keep him and Jesus happy at the same time

If we sell him who do we get that is any better?

If he hadn't have got one we wouldn't even have the point we do

There are some people on here who have very strange and suspect attitudes towards Kun at times.....

It was a pen on Aguero a split second before Milner caught Sterling. Just how TWO officials missed both is beyond me

Have given up on referees, and Pep needs a reality check if he thinks remonstrating with them on the pitch will make a blind bit of difference. Welcome to our world.

Profligacy proves costly, again, and we had nobody on the bench to whom we could turn that would keep the front five sharper.

Outplay Chelsea, Spurs and now Pool and get only 2 points out of 9 lol
But we are outplaying them, this one was closer but we were far better than Chelsea & Spurs at home, and far better than United at their place. Wouldn't have happened the past couple of seasons. We've been unlucky in terms of the final score, but that will come.

Give us a couple of decent fullbacks & a bit more depth on the bench, with the deadweight trimmed, and we'll be strong next season. Just a matter of getting through this year.

Both teams had their chances but the ref was an absolute joke yet again. Sagna did his best to fuck things up but thought stones was brilliant at the back leading the team.

Created a host of chances. As usual nowhere near clinical enough. Stand up Aguero. As emotional as it may be to acknowledge, he is missing way too many opportunities.

Looked leggy for parts, which is understandable.

We have a very worrying habit of failing to beat our direct rivals and that is going to cost us if we continue.

Referee made some terrible decisions. He gets 3 out of 5 penalty decisions wrong. The 2 in the box for us and the actual penalty.

Not sure how I feel to be honest. We are in good position to ensure we finish in the top 4, and I can't help feel that if we do this summer will be our biggest yet.

Why is everyone blaming the ref? Their penalty was 100% and Sterling should have entered inside the net with that ball. We were very poor today.. Silva to slow, de Bruyne to sloppy, Sterling in offside, Sane had no space, etc but still we should have won. We miss way to much. I really didn't enjoyed the game tonight. Fernandinho and Otamendi were great. We miss players with a good motivation, players like Zaba, Kompany, de Jong, Tevez, etc

Our full backs are all horrific.

Great game for the neutral - two attacking, defensively flawed sides with some great players that can't finish their chances.

Yaya looked really fucking old in that second half - central midfield is a big problem position that still hasn't been sorted out.
