Apparently they are buying Rickie Lambert for £10m. £10m for a pretty average 32 year old sounds a lot like Southampton are pulling their pants down
Even funnier is the fact that he came through Liverpool's academy but they let him go before his 16th birthday.

I don't understand your train of thought? he obviously wasn't good enough back then as he didn't begin realising his early potential until about 4 years ago.
Seems they made the right decision,at the time, both for the player and club or do you think Liverpool should have kept him on the books 'just in case'?
My train of thought is that it's funny them paying £10m for a player they let go at 15. Whether they were right or wrong is not material.

Yep. Bizarre statement.

So its looking like there summer business will be

Moreno
Emre Can
Lallana
Lambert

All decent players and will give there side depth, could definitely see them challenging next season if Suarez stays fit.

Still not convinced about Moreno from the (albeit small sample size) three games I've watched, but if they complete all of the above business then fair play... they're right to feel excited about the upcoming campaign.

Can't see any of those signings helping them in the areas they had problems. The only remotely defenisve player out of those is Moreno, who from what I've seen looks like a fullback who cannot defend. I can't see how adding depth in attack and midfield will make them any less of a joke defensively and none of the signings look to actually improve the first team either.

It's been a long journey via the likes of Macclesfield, Stockport and Rochdale.

Just a bit..... and all credit to the lad.

Perhaps the Dippers should employ Mystic Meg at Melwood.

Had to go half way down page two for this thread

Can someone remind me why i hate them so much please as the lack of football recently has washed my memory

Still doesn't fix their CB problems. Skrtel is a liability, Agger seems to be constantly injured and Kolo is poor at best. In fact, from what I've seen, they're reinforcing areas that aren't as important as the problems they have. They need depth to handle more games, but they don't seem to realise that they need to be able to defend.
