They've lost their most talented cheat who, along with scoring legitimate goals expertly negotiated his way into the penalty area to orchestrate his most spectacular dives and theatrics for the referee's approval and automatic spot kick for a penalty. They'll lose a lot of points this season without him at the helm.

They're a team who've lost their lucky charm, Suarez was the talisman, they all believed could do anything, with his departure, gone also is the collective belief, I didn't even notice if Gerrard was playing yesterday, so little grip did he have on midfield.
Saying that, they're only a point behind us!

I think most people (Liverpool fans aside) knew that they would have a bit of a hangover from last season. They were quite awesome to watch at times last year playing some beautiful football but this was based around hard work and playing as a team as well as having suarez who is just an incredible player. This time round they have brought a few players in that just aren't title winning/champions league material. Mario balotelli is a luxury player and not necessarily what Liverpool needed. I predict they will finish 6/7th.

Gerrard has to be the most miserable player in the league. He never smiles. Never shows any emotion when he scores: it's all just so matter of fact. He has no interaction with the mascot who escorts him onto the pitch (he's not alone here). I can't work out why he is like this. Is it because it is just a job to him? Maybe it is because he still secretly supports his childhood favourites from across Stanley Park. Or is it some public persona he is trying to cultivate?

I wonder what his plans for the future are. I can't see him in the media, so probably the next manager having done time in the famous Liverpool boot room.

And we would have played Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. They would have played us and Spurs.

I'd forgotten they'd played Spurs. They were very impressive that day. Seems a long time ago, now.
