Not sure if he is fit, but this smells like the "Why always me" thing.

If he is fit and playing, he scores tonite.

cheers

I know its a couple of days late but what do we all think of this sudden change in the media attempting to put pressure on the Mickeys via the relationship between Stevie Overrated and Brenda ?

My opinion of Gerrard is known on here. I believe he had a great game for England once against Andorra or someone and his career at the highest level effectively ended when Alonso and Mascherano stopped making him look good and went off to La Liga. Lots of times in the last three four or years we have seen him "rested" due to advancing years why then did we get all these "Gerrard dropped" headlines at the weekend ?. The media wolves also seem to be circulating rumours of a contract extension dispute that isn't going away.

I would love to know how the real relationship between the two of them actually functions and I am really shocked that the media have suddenly turned on their favourites. Especially as they seem to have their hands full with our "dirty Arab oil money" and Arsene being a clown.

The media have turned on Rodgers rather than Liverpool, and that switch in focus/agenda will be being driven by someone at the club. It's either the first steps by Liverpool's hierarchy towards paving the way for them to be able to fire Rodgers and also keep the fans onside (they have been very pro-Rodgers after last seasons Suarez inspired fluke), or else it's an agenda being driven by Gerrards camp, in order to get him a new, lucrative contract and/or to force Rodgers out if, as seems possible, the pair have had some kind of falling out.

I'd have Gerrard tomorrow if we could get him to replace Lampard.

Instead of running him into the ground and playing him in some mad defensive midfielder spot trying to turn him into the new Pirlo, we could help prolong his career and get the best out of him by using him sparingly. He can finally win that PL medal he has been craving his entire career and I'm sure will still be welcomed back to Liverpool as a legend after he has finished here.

The problem over there is that Gerrard is too big a player for Liverpool. Like Henry at Arsenal, he is an all encompassing figure around the club and the dressing room which will stifle the development of other players and stop them from stepping up when needed. They need to move him on for the good of the club as much as he needs to move himself.

Of course Liverpool being the Champions of Inappropriate Sentimentality, they would rather Gerrard stay and hinder them both than Gerrard leave and help them both. Its the reason the club is Gerrard FC and they have desperately clung onto him for dear life despite him obviously being past his best and not working in the team any more.

I must be missing the point over Mario's tweet. I am not offended at all.

Well if you at least made the effort to try and be offended you might.

You can't keep Mario out of the news. Apparently, he could be in trouble for the reference to Jews in this Instagram post.

He should be charged. You're either easily offended or your not.
Balotelli has been at the centre of race storms before mostly through no fault of his own but he has said stuff like if I'm racially abused I will walk off the pitch and if somebody throws a banana at me I will kill them.

This is similar to Rio Ferdinand calling Ash Cole a chock ice.

Ah well, at least racial stereotypes are still funny peculiar, if not funny ha-ha...

Replace the word 'Jew' with 'Scotsman' in that tweet and most likely nobody would have batted an eyelid.

Or Yorkshireman.

That wouldn't be racist, as it's true.
