Not being sarcastic, but its surely all they have left to play for, and Bournemouth would rather keep doing well in the league.
Not only is it Liverpool's only (realistic) chance of silverware, its a route into Europe (and its prise money), even if only the much maligned Europa.

Couldn't help but notice Souness when he picked the dippers out of the bag as home team in the semi.. then twitch junior picked out Chelsea as the opponents...face like a smacked arse.

Thought he looked dangerous as fuck during his second half cameo against us back in August. Definitely a good player in there somewhere.

Thought I'd dip (no pun intended) into this thread and was surprised to see that Bournemouth rested players last night. Kind of goes some way to explaining last night's result but expected a good performance from Liverpool anyway.
Sunday against Arsenal will be a real crunch game though.

I was in the car listening to 5Live before the game and Pulis was the analyst. He knows a thing about defenders and defending and he was asked about Lovren. He said that Lovren looked great at Southampton and he was surprised how poor he had been at Liverpool. He talked about how he would be taking the defensive unit out on the training pitch and running drills to organise them and suggested that the defensive coaching wasn't being done properly at Liverpool (although he was careful not to say it quite that directly).
I agree. He looked good at our place but I'm sure Bodger will bring him down to the level of the rest of the squad before too long. It was an interesting game last night and in some ways the mirror image of the game against the rags.
