Got another year left in him and he's English, get him signed

No thanks - he's been dreadful for Liverpool this season.
Tbf, Frank was horrible for Chelsea last season

Re: Gerard to leave the dippers

Nowhere near as talented as the Ginger Bastard or our very own and incredibly sexy Fat Frank. His career ended when Mascherano and Alonso both knobbed off to Spain and stopped making him look good. He had a really good game for England once though against Andorra or someone.

A medium sized fish in a medium sized pond.

steve g to leave liverpool

On sending now that Steve got leaving Liverpool at end of season to go to USA and play there

Re: Gerard to leave the dippers

Can still take a better set piece than anyone currently at the club.

But I would only want him to play one less than he'd need for a winners medal.

Steven Gerrard: Liverpool captain to leave at the end of season

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Gerrard, 34, became free to sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club on Thursday.

The former England captain, who retired from international football in July, will not move to another English club, BBC Sport understands.

Gerrard was offered a new Liverpool deal in November and is believed to be interesting clubs in the US.

LA Galaxy are thought to be among the possible destinations for the midfielder.

His former Liverpool and England team-mate Jamie Carragher tweeted: "Sad day for Liverpool and English football with the Gerrard news."

But Carragher, who retired in 2013, added: "I think it's the right decision, all things considered."
BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty:

"Steven Gerrard's decision to leave his beloved Liverpool at the end of the season will be received with great sadness at Anfield and beyond - and will leave a hole that manager Brendan Rodgers will find incredibly difficult to fill. "The time may be right for Gerrard, 35 in May, to leave Anfield as in recent times it has been clear he will be moved more to the margins and used more sparingly by his manager. "But Gerrard remains an iconic figure, a footballer who arguably competes with Kenny Dalglish for the title of the greatest ever to wear the red shirt, and someone still capable of having significant influence on Liverpool's fortunes. "His loyalty in the past, ignoring the advances of Chelsea and others to remain steadfastly at Liverpool, gives him a special place in the heart of The Kop. He will leave the club with the good wishes of those he has given such golden moments, notably the famous Champions League final against AC Milan in Istanbul in 2005 and the FA Cup final he almost made his own against West Ham United in Cardiff 12 months later."
