Good, they are still average at best and will get twatted. It will also affect their league chances.

There are some players in each window that are studs, that when available, you should try and get. In this sense we SHOULD have been interested. It actually looks bad if we werent', especially considering that we're now being linked with Ntep (???).

i'll take Rodgers at his word, but I'll be very upset if we end up getting a discount-shop winger who can "sort of play striker" after he himself correctly said we have three players in that position (not four--Lallana is NOT a winger!!!!).

We can't really knock them for that (not saying you are, by the way). Didn't we get in via that route in the Sven season? People praying that we behaved ourselves at Middlesbrough in the last game. Well; we certainly didn't put in too many "agricultural" challenges that day!

I think you're right. I forgot about that; I've actually tried to erase that whole game from my memory (without success!).

Yeah, I gathered from comments Dunne made somewhere long afterwards that he was somewhat disillusioned and generally pissed off with the rumours of the imminent sacking of Sven, going into that game.
Mind you, I seem to think that he got himself sent off for the Christmas period that season too, immediately after his wife had presented him with a new child, as I recall. Great servant to the club overall but not above a spot of "professionalism" toward the end, perhaps?
