Some of the fuckwits over there ought to try attending a football match every once in a while, instead of skriking about some people saying some oh so nasty things about their club online. If they did, then I think they'd actually find City fans a friendlier bunch in general than our neighbours. Match-attending Liverpool fans in general aren't a bad bunch either. I've had loads of great days out at Liverpool away and got on fine with their fans in the main. I even drank in a pub full of Liverpool fans after our last win there in 2003 - which dealt a huge blow to their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League - and didn't have any issues whatsoever. 1894 has a great relationship with a couple of their fan groups too. I'd better watch my back for this game though after seeing that post online, because apparently they all turn into nutters for European games and we'll need a police escort to stop us getting battered - sounds like this will be 10 times worse than Napoli and Millwall away combined. Joking aside, it can still be a dodgy place of course but so can our gaff.
As for that comparison between this forum and Red Cafe, well I actually think Red Cafe shits all over RAWK but despite that, I find it bizarre that anyone on RAWK would blow smoke up the arse of Red Cafe. Why? Well not because they can't stand United but because back in 2010-11 when Hodgson was manager of Liverpool, a Liverpool fan on RAWK posted a disgusting piece saying that as he was too young to remember Hillsborough, Hodgson was his "Hillsborough". Now it seems the mods at RAWK went to town on the fucker and outed some of his personal details which in turn led to the poster getting a fair amount of stick, but the poster then claimed his account had been hacked. Whether it had or not is something open to debate, but what followed was a fair amount of back-tracking from the RAWK mods (given that they'd been responsible for making this poster's personal details public) and they somehow deduced - with absolutely no supporting evidence whatsoever - that the "hacker" was a United poster on Red Cafe. Apparently their reason for coming to this conclusion was that the post was only on RAWK for a matter of minutes before being pulled, yet someone on Red Cafe managed to spot it and post it in their RAWK meltdown thread before any other forum got hold of it.
Now I'm not saying there aren't any United fans who are capable of masquerading as a Liverpool fan and posting such a thing, but I find it very difficult to believe that they would go to the lengths of hacking an existing RAWK account rather than simply creating a new one. Conclusion - the Liverpool fan wasn't hacked and posted that bile of his own accord, and the RAWK mods can't accept that one of their own would do such a despicable thing.

My reason for despising Rags & Dippers is the arrogance of their fans , and the media continually fawning over these football clubs not mentioning the total disrespect they show to their real derby rivals ourselves and Everton , you do get the occasional decent contributor on B/M but the mask always slips at some stage and they revert to being arrogant twats.
Because they have a big fan base , they believe they are still big clubs that are relevant in europe , if that is true then a club like Celtic must be considered a european super power , when in truth all three despite their support are now actually irrelevant in european terms , only ourselves and Chelsea from England have competed consistently in the Champs league over the last decade , whilst the two 'istree clubs struggle to qualify and more often than not do not even get out of the group stages.
Since the takeover and the resurgence of our club the Rags have won three titles in ten years(the last five years ago) , and the Dippers have never won the Premier league, only their deluded followers still consider either a giant club , leave that to Real, Barca , Bayern , Juventus the bonafide giants of european football , hopefully the way our club is progressing we will be among this elite group in the next few years.
Let them have their 'istree and commemorate annually the tragic events that dominate their 'istree , we will quietly and respectfully go about our business and see where it takes us.

That's fair enough Dax. As you say, hard to put a case forward for anyone else given the figures.
Shame really, because KDB's influence this season has been immense, and could lead to City winning two, maybe three genuine trophies this season. Would be unfortunate for that not to be recognised.
Funnily enough, the same happened with Yaya in 2013/14 when Suarez had an incredible season, and in 2011-12 when the award went to RVP.
Oh well, we'll just have to settle for winning trophies instead.
PS: I'm not going with the best African player ever in PL claim though :)

that's the thing, Kev was immense to put us in a title-winning position, and has been ticking over as we get closer to the big end of season finale. Salah has been scoring tonnes of goals but much like Harry Kane it's got them nowhere. It's probably already been voted for, but in terms of impact on the league and on their side De Bruyne has made a far more significant impact. If Salah aces De Bruyne in the QF then that'll be the first truly significant contribution he's made and fair enough, but I hope we come back firing and De Bruyne comes back in immense form and cements his spot as #1.
At the moment though, Salah is winning the stats battle but it's not even a contest in terms of contribution to this league season, De Bruyne has been significantly more important.

2016/17 - After 31 games.
Liverpool: 4th, Pld: 31, W: 17, D: 9, L: 5, GD: +27, Pts: 60.
City: 5th, Pld: 31, W: 17, D: 8, L: 6, GD: +23, Pts: 59.
2017/18 - After 30/31 games.
Liverpool: 3rd, Pld: 31, W: 18, D: 9, L: 4, GD: +39, Pts: 63.
City: 1st, Pld: 30, W: 26, D: 3, L: 1, GD: +65, Pts: 81.
All that's happened is Liverpool are becoming completely dependent on him. Last season:
16/17 - 78 league goals, Top Scorer(s): Coutinho & Mane (13) = 16.7% contribution each or 33.3% combined. So 2 players combined scored a third of their goals.
17/18 - 73 league goals, Top Scorer: Salah - 28 = 38.4% contribution alone.
It's the classic Kane/Kun problem under Pellegrini. You can have one guy scored 30 goals and it win you nothing (they could of course win the CL which would be fair play). However, talking about the league, for several years we've been saying you can't just rely on 1 player to get you 30 to win the league, you need to score nearly 100 with your front line each contributing at least 10/15 goals alongside your main striker. This is the difference this season because we've had Sterling, Kev, Jesus, Dave and Sane each chipping in, as well as Otamendi et al. and it means that when Kun doesn't play, we still score goals and win games.
Compare us v Southampton, needing a goal and Sterling scoring, to Liverpool last weekend where Salah was marked out of the game and Liverpool couldn't score. That's a 6 point swing that has cost Liverpool the league and something they need to fix next season if they want to challenge. They can't rely on one man because if he doesn't fire they have no other option.
Of course we know Mane, Ox, Henderson et al. turn up and play brilliantly and score stupendous goals against us all the time, but that's the exception rather than the rule. so whilst De Bruyne's stats look far less impressive on paper, in reality he's had a far bigger impact on the league season and made the team sing, the end result is he has far less goals than Salah and not many more assists, but City are 18 points clear on the verge of the title.
De Bruyne has been creating added value for City all season, Salah has been picking up the slack and covering for guys like Mane who haven't turned up for the most part (apart from against us) and for the sale of Coutinho. That's the difference and that's why Kev deserves the awards.

To be fair, outside of the bile posted in the City thread there are a lot of very knowledgeable posters on RAWK. The trouble is, most City fans on here won't look beyond the City thread on there and most Liverpool fans on RAWK won't look past the Liverpool thread on here so we'll have an equally dim view of each other. If you look in the Hillsborough section of RAWK, there's a thread about opposition fans/forums opinions and there's a lot of praise aimed at fans of various clubs. However, one poster in particular reserves his highest praise for, believe it or not, this forum and the detailed discussion that we had on here about it.

That's the problem with relying on stats to decide the winner, more than anything. There seems to be the opinion that basically any striker scoring over 30 goals in the league should automatically get POTS. Last season it rightfully went to Kante. In our first title win, it went to Kompany (although Van Persie got the Players' POTY). No doubt neither of those had amazing stats. As I said earlier, in a tight league, you can understand that it's not always going to go to someone from the winning team, but when one team has run away with the title and one player has been absolutely instrumental in that, it should obviously go to that player. Especially if he's done it consistently in the big games.

well yes, it's of course more than the 6 point swing, I was just using it to highlight that when it's come to the crunch we've had other players turn up with key goals to win us games outside of our main striker, whilst Liverpool have dropped points because they're over-reliant on Salah and haven't been able to achieve the same results as a consequence.
