not true. Liverpool had the record P23 W16 D5 L2 Pts 53/69 between 28 October and 31 March. Their problem was the start of the season where they had a P9 W3 D4 L2 Pts 13/27 run which knocked them out of the title race due to our 20 game winning run. They didn't run out of steam until they decided to prioritise the CL from the Quarter-Finals.Their problem was a lacklustre start.
There's a team every year that says this though. Back when Leeds were good, I remember my cousin saying that if they would have been Champions if the league ran from January to December. The slight problem with that is that it doesn't. The question is whether their results got better because they improved, or because the fixture list was kinder to them. I'd say it's a little of both. It's not a coincidence that their terrible start coincided with a tough run of fixtures.

They failed to win four games in a row when they played us, Sevilla, Burnley and Leicester all within 10 days. They beat Leicester, but then failed to win the next three away in Moscow, away to Newcastle and against the rags. They then drew against Sevilla because they went 3-0 up and thought they could save themselves for the Chelsea game 4 days later, which they also drew. They beat us and then lost the next two games against now relegated teams. They beat us a second time and drew the derby against Everton. Their games immediately before and after Roma were draw, draw, lose, two of which were against now relegated teams.

Is this because of them focusing on more important competitions, or is it a symptom of their style of play, which they simply can't do twice a week over a full season?

I mentioned post Christmas. Between then and the season's end they played 19 and dropped points in seven matches. The run in the CL would have added to their fatigue. It depends how you look at the stats. I accept they didn't start that well. We will see what happens next season. Injuries can also play a huge part. Losing Salah or VVD for a few months would kill them.

there was 3 months post-Christmas when they were fine. The league was dead by the time they decided to rest players for the CL QF, it's not a particularly relevant period of the season.

Yep, Klopp's got to deliver a trophy next season. They love to go on about him but really all he's done is give them a few fist pumps and that "heavy metal football"

Sure i remember klopp saying he's not a cheque book manager, that he prefers to improve the players he has?
Just need a decent goalie, a forward to score 20 plus goals and salah to repeat his freak season and they might push for second..

With Fekir, Klopp has already done signings north of 350m. He has realized he cannot survive in the PL without the cheque book.

Your lucky, I get adverts for Women's blouse's and breathable boxer shorts.

I think the site is implying that I'm a crossdresser with a smelly cock.
Does your wife/girlfriend use your browser? I think I know what you're getting for Christmas.

Urghhhh...pass the sick bucket. Fucking cringe....
Funny how 25 points behind, 22 goals less scored, 11 goals conceded more and they can still sit there saying they play the best football. To even debate it is funny, to sit there and say it just shows how delusional they all are.

So total spent upto now pre season is about 148m plus a possible keeper for 35-40m.

Shirley if they did manage to win the league next year all the scousers would call it a hollow victory as any club spennding 200m+ in one transfer window to win the league don't deserve it in their eye according to this seasons comments.

The delusion is real. “Guardiola couldn’t do what Klopp did with this team”....what? Finish 4th and win nothing? Pretty sure he Could.

In all honesty, I don't think he could do that bad.

It's amazing what they think he's achieved.

They always use their spending as an excuse to why they are where they are. Top 4 finish is no longer good enough at all for them, they have to win the league to be considered successful. Just picking out the following players shows how much they have spent:

Firmino - 37
Mane - 37
Salah - 37
Fabinho - 40
Keita - 54
Fekir - 54
Vvd - 71
Keeper - 50
Ox - 34
Wijnaldum - 24
Henderson - 16
Lallana - 28
Lovren - 22

That’s over 500 million on current first team players and I’m sure there’s plenty more players to add to that. This myth that Liverpool don’t spend money is a joke and they have the audacity to sit and talk about how pep couldn’t do it with klopps budget.
