I heard this on talksport earlier on so please take it with a sack of rock salt in case it is incorrect;

Some irish comedian(?) on H & J was talking about the Shankly hotel, how it is full of legendary quotations and memorabilia to commemorate the man (as you would expect), but he said in the dining room there is small section with an Everton badge symbolising the point where he fell out with Liverpool and was asked to leave Melwood he was so disgruntled that he began to follow Everton and used to go to their games.

A) is this true?
B) has anyone seen it?

Feels similar to the situation we nearly had with Mike Doyle

Don't know, I had one of the guys in the office down for being Bartley Gorman's last opponent and that didn't get spotted for over a year!
Nobody is going to see that before the paleoarchaeologists come back for it mate, it's just some pathetic dipper employed for equality quotas.

I don't know about the Everton connection, but Altrincham played Liverpool in the FA Cup back in the day, and the team coach stopped for Shankley to get on and give the team some support.

Early '80's I think, but the guy who told me, an Alty player at the time, thought it was quite sad and not what he would have expected from him.

Are Liverpool the most disliked football club in the England?

I simply can not think of any club that comes close at the moment. Cardiff perhaps?

United are pitied and frankly most people are enjoying their pain. Chelsea and their fans seem reasonable in comparison to the unpleasantness of the Cult. City are envied but not disliked. Spurs and Arsenal are annoying but hardly hated.

Couple of papers leading with a failed £2bn bid for Liverpool from a cousin of the sheikh
I have it on good authority that FSG accepted the bid and as temporary custodians of the club, were prepared to stand aside and allow further investment to drive the club forward.

The main stumbling block came from the largest of the official supporters groups '''redder than a fire engine" who confirmed in good conscience they could not back the sale of the club knowing it would result in outside investment and the history and tradition of the club was to 'utilise the financial resources that had been earnt solely by the club'.

The chairman of the supporters club Francis McGeoffrey released a statement confirming that 'as one of the main pillars of footballing society, the mighty Liverpool would never lower themselves to be in a position where they were having to rely on '''dirty Arab oil money".

True story - think it was first leaked to and reported on by Jamie Paradise.
