As my Dad used to say to me when we played pool and I’d be on the black; “no pressure!”

Early yesterday morning I got a text from a spurs fan saying I’m surrounded by scousers who think they’ve won the league.

Chelsea were excellent yday but if they were Scousers they would highlight that victory as why they are greatest team in the world.

No one quite like them.

That would be epic. They’d claim a moral victory, of course.

You are so right. I work with a Liverpool fan and he bangs on about how they beat us three times last season and got to the CL final. So I said, but we won the league and league cup and you finished 4th and lost the final. But he said being in the CL final makes you a better team than winning the domestic league...hmmm.

Taking that further, I have a friend from Barcelona and the general feeling in Spain is that CL success does trump domestic success so whilst a league and CL double is of course the dream, he would prefer to give back the league titles in exchange for Real's CL dominance over the past few years.

I think City feel differently. I certainly would only really want CL success if he won the league too. But when you look back, whilst Chelsea and Liverpool both won it without a domestic title it is still a huge success so should I be bothered? Perhaps it is because the rags have managed to do both...
