I'm talking about a season where the rags and dippers were both actually in a title race, 2009 is the only one I can think of. It's a manufactured plastic rivalry outside the obvious Manc-Scouser animosity.

On the Guardian podcast Max Rushden announced we are just about keeping pace with the league leaders. Obviously the two teams leading the pack narrative has changed.

How on earth do Liverpool fans get around the topic of batteries? I mean, do they ask for AA, AAA or just puff out their chests and bottle the device before legging it?
