Get a room you two.

On the subject of Klopp and his spending comments, I see his excuse is simply that he’s changed his mind in the meantime and anyone is entitled to change their mind. Personally, I think it’s a pathetic cop out.

Where did I leave that "that escalated quickly" meme?

Could you imagine the outrage if pep gave a "because I want to" reason to spending that much money?

Interesting stuff. Thanks Mallorca.

Many forum members are rightly incensed at the outrages committed by a minority of Liverpool fans and the lack of crackdown on said fans by Liverpool ownership. These minority fans are criminals and belong in jail.

However, the ire against the minority Liverpool criminal naturally transfers to all things Liverpool - their players are horrible, their manager is terrible, the average Liverpool fan is an asshole who needs to be put into jail, etc.

Along these lines is the common sentiment that Klopp is terrible, hasn't won anything for Liverpool, needs to be fired, etc.

Whereas, Klopp has done quite well on a limited budget and now that Pool's ownership is spending, Liverpool are likely going to be our closest competitors for the title.

As a manager of a side that's not spending, you'll probably criticize sides that spend a lot (to defend your club against bad results at least and to defend your own performance as a manager given any losses suffered) - hence Klopp's remarks. Ironic that the tables have turned.
====
Klopp terrible? Liverpool terrible? Klopp needs to be fired for not winning anything in 4 years? So say many forum members.

But you're Man City fans - who rightly detest actions committed by a minority of Liverpool fans.

If Klopp is so terrible and needs to be fired - well, then, what do Liverpool fans think? Precisely the opposite.
Its the hypocrisy that ranks were are the one for the last 10 years have been buying the league/ inflating the transfer market, while the red dippers have had a free ride going on about net spend. Funny how they got all giddy when they thought they were getting bought out by arab money.

Now known as a Klopp out.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp "doesn't care" about allegations of hypocrisy over his transfer spending.

After Paul Pogba's £89m move to Manchester United in 2016, Klopp said he would quit football if such fees became commonplace.

The £66.8m signing of goalkeeper Alisson from Roma took Liverpool's spending over the past 12 months to almost £250m.

"We don't care what the world around us is thinking," Klopp said.

"Like Manchester United didn't care what I said."

The German added: "It is only an opinion in that moment. Did I change my opinion? Yes. That is true. But it is better to change your opinion than never have one."

The hypocrisy here is absolutely fucking monstrous. Then he has the fucking balls to say "That is the problem these days. Whatever bullshit you say, nobody will forget it." That's right, Klopp, you're the fucking victim, of course.

Outraged. But un-surprised.

Agreed. Pool (and other clubs) weren't at all shy complaining about how much we spent as compared to them - and now that things have changed, so has their rhetoric.

As an aside, I think that spending under Pep has been very reasonable - we don't go after the world's best player, willing to spend whatever in order to land him in our side (in contrast to United - very unsuccessful - PSG - also not doing well - and Madrid - this formula seems to work well for them). Instead, we've tried to identify under-valued young players, willing to spend quite a bit (but not over-the-top) in order to attract upcoming but not yet fulfilled talent. Pep seems to be a genius at identifying such players and this has contributed to our success.

You have zero football knowledge and every single thing you post shows that up time and time again.
Oh and don’t replay to me I have zero interest in your half arsed attempts to justify your position
On the contrary, I find his “outside looking in” views to be quite refreshing.

He was merely discussing other formats for the World Cup the other day but rather than consider it, a number of posters were foaming at the mouth because he’s a yank.

Unlike other newcomers who have been welcomed with open arms despite acting the clever **** to blues and not being blues themselves, everything he says seems to be dismissed out of hand.

I was very interested in his World Cup format ideas and don’t think he’s wrong about Liverpool here.
