I’m not sure that’s correct. You could theoretically end up with 37, 39 or 41, but not 40 (assuming no points deductions)

I would be the first to admit that my deficiency in Maths in pretty conclusive (E at GCSE no less). In my inferior mind, I simply added 37 draws to 1 win (3 points) and added the two figures together.

Despising numbers the way I do, I'll accept your three possibilities with grace and not a little awe - without trying to work out how you got there for fear of inducing a stroke. : )
